Prodrive F1 plan protest

24 March 2006 by Keith Collantine

David Richards, ProdriveDavid Richard’s (pictured) ambitions of expanding his Prodrive company ahead of a mooted Formula One entry in 2008 faces protests from local residents – even though it would create jobs in the area.

The ‘Fulcrum Prodrive Action Group’ (FPAG) are complaining that the expansion of the Prodrive facility would put local roads under excessive strain and increase the potential for traffic accidents. Prodrive have sent proposals to their conucil which do include plans to develop nearby roads to cope with the extra traffic. They also intend to increase their workforce to 1,000, creating more local jobs.
