Schumi spin: The movie

27 May 2006 by Keith Collantine

Michael Schumacher, Ferrari, Monte-Carlo, 2006, qualifying incidentStill no word from the Monaco Grand Prix stewards on that Monaco Grand Prix incident. Not made up your mind yet? Check out the video below. Want my opinion? I’m not convinced that the tight entry he was taking into the corner was his usual line. Nor that a driver of his skill did not know full well that from the way in which he entered the corner that he couldn’t get around it.

In English football last year there was uproar when David Beckham admitted to intentionally fouling a player to collect a yellow card, so that he could time his suspension to coincide with a non-vital match. All professional sportsmen will extract the maximum from any given situation. But Schumacher is perhaps smart enough not to admit it out loud.
