One of the few pieces of technology still relevant and transferable to road-going cars. Unlike TCS, STM and automatic gearboxes, it was generally not making the car easier to drive, just faster. The FW16 wouldn't have killed Senna had it not been for the sudden ban. Turbocharging, another transferable technology, banned in exchange for engines with exotic internals to ultimately exceed flash readings of >19,000 rpm. Lots of use data on beryllium internals does for road cars. Of course there's the idea of a potential criminal investigation involving a racing crash. More absurdity.

I love F1, but the sometimes-brash rule changes are progressively getting more out of hand, especially now that they're not even in the interest of safety. They were going to ban tire warmers for 2010? What? Winner-takes-all system? What is this nonsense?

What strange luck Zanardi has had in his life...

Nowadays, I suppose true active suspension would be thought of as one of those driver's aids like traction control.

Internal parts are movabe aerodynamic devices? Just goes to show even back then the FIA were butchering the English language to get their way.
And to think I once had respect for Charlie Whiting...
