The whole anti-"terrorist"-immigration thing may well be a cover for a method of reducing system workload. I have heard anecdotal reports that at least one person was barred for the "crime" of flying a plane from Heathrow to Dallas. It is also possible that someone with a similarly-spelt name to Mehmi Admani is on the restricted list for some reason. Systems of this type in all countries are notorious for struggling to differentiate between similarly-spelt names.
