  1. Clive says:

Seems like it’s too difficult, Keith. But I’ll start the ball rolling with a couple of guesses.

    15. Last season with two Brit GPs must have been the year that the European GP was held at Donington. But don’t ask me the year – I’m hopeless with dates.

    19. That would be Eddie Jordan, although whether rock bands hold anything as staid as a concert is debatable…

  2. James B says:

    2. 1994
    3. Jarno Trulli
    4. Debris from David Coulthard’s head restraint
    6. 19th
    7. Italy
    9. Jenson Button,
    10. Priory
    11. Christiano Da Matta – Toyota
    13. Aintree
    14. Rubens Barrichello
    15. 1993
    16. They were all on Renault engines
    18. 2000
    20. Keke Rosberg

  3. Some sterling work by James B but eight questions still need a correct answer…

    1, 5, 8, 9, 12, 13, 17 and 19

  4. Big-Al says:

    Tough quiz!
    Wild guess on #1- Moss?
    1.?
    5.four
    8.1962
    9.Button, Hobbs, and Blundell
    12.Germany and Brazil
    13.Monte Carlo
    17.Jim Clark- 5
    19.Paul Stoddard

  5. James B says:

    1. Jackie Stewart
    9. Button, Peter Gethin and Innes Ireland

  6. 1. Not Moss or Stewart! But Moss is connected…
    5. Yep – 1986, ‘87, ‘91 and ‘92. He also won the European Grand Prix at Brands Hatch in 1985.
    8. 1962 is correct
    9. Button, Gethin and Ireland is correct
    12. Neither Germany nor Brazil have ever filled a podium
    13. Monaco is correct
    17. Jim Clark is right – but he won four in a row from 1962-5, then a fifth in 1967

And I apologise – question 19 had already been correctly answered by Clive (Eddie Jordan).

Which means we still need answers for 1 and 12…

  7. James B says:

    1. Mike Hawthorn
    12. Italy and France

  8. Abhinav says:

    1.Alan Jones?
    12.France and Italy.

  9. Italy and France is right – but it wasn’t Hawthorn, and Jones is Australian!

  10. Journeyer says:

Hmmm, tricky, #1. But most of the usual suspects are gone. I suspect it’s Jim Clark. If not him, then Graham Hill?

  11. Tony Brooks is the answer to the first question. The Moss connection is it was a shared drive, and Moss was the only one of the two to actually lead (if memory serves).

  12. Spectacular!

And we’re all done. Thanks for playing guys, European Grand Prix quiz in two weeks’ times.
