    5. 1994 – Nurburgring wasn’t on the calendar
    6. 2nd, to Barrichello
    7. 1985?
    8. Hard to believe, but it was at France 2003 (the week after his Nurburgring win)
    9. Massa
    10. Button
    11. 11th
    12. Veedol S?
    13. Mansell?

    16. 1993
    17. Toyota
    18. Mansell, Jacques Villeneuve, Hakkinen
    19. Ran out of fuel?

  2. 1. Nick Heidfeld – I remember vividly the inane joke F1 Racing made about it afterwards…

    2. Donington Park, Jerez and (with appropriate timing) the Nurburgring.

    3. Luca Badoer – in a Minardi. It would have been the best result of his career if the gearbox had functioned all race…

    5. 1992

    7. 1984

    11. Raikkonen was classified 9th.

    13. Johnny Herbert won the 1999 European GP.

    16. 1992

  3. SoLiD says:

    4. Fernando Alonso
(it doesn’t always have to be montoya)

  4. Journeyer says:

Solid, I said Montoya because ‘unclassy’ was the exact word Ross Brawn used to describe the maneuver.

Alianora, #2 said other than the Nurburgring. So that means the 3 other circuits were Jerez, Donington, and Brands Hatch. :) I’m pretty sure you were right in #s 1, 3, 7, and 13 (how did I miss that? :o )

  5. Journeyer says:

Oh, and 16 too. Hmmm. If Alianora got 11th right, we’d be down to #s 12 and 19. :)

  6. Abhinav says:

14-Wasn’t David Coulthard the driver who stopped on track and Luizzi spun off with a flat tyre?So it should be DC.

  7. It was definitely Liuzzi who went out on lap 1 – Coulthard carried on for another three laps (and two pit stops to fix damaged components) before retiring on lap 4 due to steering damage brought on by the tangle with Liuzzi.

Unfortunately, Alain Prost’s practise problem occurred two years before I was born, hasn’t made it into any of the books I’ve read on Formula 1 and I therefore have no idea what the problem was.

  8. Oh, and it was definitely Montoya who did the “unclassy” move in 2003. Fernando does some good passes, but so far none of them have triggered the response from Jean Todt “That was NOT classy!”

  9. Journeyer says:

The not classy comment came from Ross Brawn, I believe.

I also know why Solid said it was Alonso. He braked unusually early for the Veedol-S sometime during the 2003 race. That surprised Coulthard, and the sudden braking forced him into the gravel. It may have been a braketest, but there is no conclusive proof if it was or it wasn’t.

  10. journeyer, thank you for the correction. :)
