Your questions: Most win/pole doubles

17 July 2007 by Keith Collantine

Michael Schumacher, Ferrari, Magny-Cours, 2006David Sproston wrote in to ask the following:

Who has the highest number of wins from pole position ever?

I’m sure it will come as no surprise to David to learn that it’s yet another record held by Michael Schumacher.

He won 40 races from pole position - the first at Monte-Carlo in 1994, the last at Magny-Cours last year. Read more of Michael Schumacher’s career stats.

Second on the list is Ayrton Senna, with 29. Schumacher’s first win from pole was the first race after Senna’s death.

That Monaco 94 pole was also his first… Ayrton came a few races short for his pole record :(
