The 10,000th comment was posted on F1Fanatic.co.uk during the Australian Grand Prix weekend. Who was the author?

Congratulations Toncho who wrote the 10,000th comment – here’s what he had to say about the Australian Grand Prix.

The big 10,000 does not include the 1,933 messages received during the first F1Fanatic Live Blogs during free practice three and qualifying and the race at last weekend’s Grand Prix. The F1Fanatic Live Blogs will be running during all the sessions of the Malaysian Grand Prix – if you want to help out with moderating, please contact me.

As anyone who’s run a blog will know fighting comment spam is a constant problem. Over 200,000 spams have been blocked from this site, allowing those of us who aren’t fixated by the size of one’s equipment to discuss F1 in peace. Many thanks to the creators of Spam Karma 2 and Akismet.

  1. 20 spams for 1 genuine comment – that sounds like an awful lot of clearance work by the two programs you mention. Shows how effective they are, because I’ve never seen any spam on this site.

Congratulations on making 10,000 comments! My blog hasn’t even made 10,000 visits yet…

  2. Nicely done Keith, although some of my comments certainly can be considered spam I appreciate the chance to read and post.

    Congrats!

  3. I read every day but hardly ever post so here is me saying congrats!

  4. Well done, Keith. The next 10,000 will come in half the time I suspect.

  5. Cheers John – if all goes well there’s a good chance of us passing 20,000 before the end of the year…

  6. I’ll second all that’s been said, congratulations – 10,000 comments is quite an achievement!

  7. Nice one – building a community is a lot harder than building a site… that’s one heckuva achievement.

  8. Thanks guys… now where’s Toncho?

I wish I’d seen this coming up sooner I’d’ve organised a competition or something.  Will try to do it for the big 20K.

  9. Hey congratulations for that, your blog is very nice that is why it is poular…
