Robbie Kerr converted pole position to victory in the Brands Hatch sprint race – meanwhile the Swiss team were celebrating a fourth place for Neel Jani that gave him the points he needed to win the third A1 Grand Prix World Cup of Nations.

Kerr got to the first corner first and managed the race from there, while Jonathan Summerton (USA) held off Adam Carroll (Ireland) for second – Carroll darting around the outside of Jani at Paddock Hill bend on the first lap.

Narain Karthikeyan (India) was close behind Jani in fifth with Portugal’s Filipe Albuquerque in sixth.

Jonny Reid made a good start to take his New Zealand car up to eighth but wasn’t able to make any further progress and ran over the kerb heavily at Stirling’s while chasing Adrian Zaugg of South Africa, who finished seventh.

Jeroen Bleekemolen (Netherlands) and Franck Montagny (France) completed the top ten.
