British Grand Prix drivers’ and constructors’ championship standings
Here are the standings after the British Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa are in a three-way tie for the lead of the drivers’ championship on 48 points, with Robert Kubica just two more behind.
Meanwhile Toyota move up to fourth in the constructors’ championship, ahead of Red Bull.

Hamilton and Massa has the same number of wins, second, third and fifth places.
Lewis has a tenth place that Felipe doesn’t have. How far does a countback go if it is needed at the end of the season?
I wouldn’t worry too much about that Tengil – Massa is unlikely to be in contention at the end , now that he is suffering from Vertigo
Tengil – the countback goes as far back as it needs to – in other words, if the championship ended today, Hamilton would be winner by dint of that fifth place.
I remember one of the junior formulae in Britain a couple of years ago was decided on countback and the title went to the driver with the most seventh places. Can’t remember which series though. Anyone?
