As I said before Keith, brilliant idea.

This is a must for all the people just drawn into the sport by the recent media interest in Hamilton. Informative, factual and without any of the he said/she said speculations that plague some of the other sites.
10/10.

lol! schumacher '97. classic moment. i can't recall him trying any of that on with mika, can anyone else? the funny thing is whenever he did anything like that it usually ended up blowing up in his face-hill being the exception.

this is a great series, keith. it does remind me that the more it changes, the more it stays the same. at least on the driver's front.

Nick: I agree. We don't have to feel guilty about enjoying a good crash in these days. Its amazing how safe current cars are. Kubica would have surely perished during those times, and now he came out with a sprained ankle and minor concussion from something like 75g.

I read through most of the first 8 installments together and whilst I love the little facts like someone winning from twenty second on the grid and an otherwise unheard of Italian winning for Ferrari in Monza, the thing that strikes me the most is the death toll in the early years. I mean, whether we credit Jackie Stewart,or later on Sid Watkins or Max Mosley, the fact that I can now get shocked by an accident from which the driver is fit to race two weeks later and put in a decent performance is fantastic. It hasn't sterilised the sport - Shocking accidents still happen but the chances of the impact of that accident not going beyond that race are so much better now

Awesome articles. This is the era that got me involved watching F1 fanatically. I was lucky enough to get my first experience of F1 in the flesh seeing Mansell win the British Grand Prix in '86 I think it was.

Isn't it interesting that there were no new winners between 85 and 89 and then 89 and 92/
Reflects the domination that Senna, Prost, Mansell, Piquet and Berger had over the sport.
