  1. Although the safety car following Piquet Jnr’s crash, and Felipe Massa’s misfortunes helped, Fernando Alonso yet again proved just how much of a talent he is, and how much more he has to offer.
The Renault, to be brutally honest, has been a pig all year long. In many instances, Alonso has overdriven the car, asking too much of a machine not up to the task, and that task is the championship. How galling that must be, to a man who has contested the championship for the last three years, and won two of them.
How frustating it must be, to see McLaren and especially Lewis Hamilton, leading the title race when he is unable to fight back with a machine capable of doing so. In that instance, Hamilton was extremely sensible to settle for third place.
In a one on one fight with Alonso, with a championship at stake, Hamilton had the world to lose, and Alonso a score to settle. The great tragedy of this season, has been that we have not seen Alonso and Hamilton duking it out in two competitive cars. As much fun as it is watching the young McLaren driver square up to Massa and Raikkonen, it would be pure heaven to see him and Alonso face off more often.
You don’t have to be a Hamilton fan to want that neither. The one guy on the grid ‘all’ Alonso fans want to see put to pasture is Lewis Hamilton, and the McLaren team. Whatever Fernando decides for his future after this season has passed, we can only hope that he chooses wisely, and that this dream of mine can be realised again.

Hmmm… you may want to revise that a tad following Piquet’s revelations!?

  2. Renault

The whole race Singapore should be taken out of the results making Massa the Worldchampion 2008 as sad as something like this would be to Formula one and all regulated sports for that matter. This is the only cause of action that would be right.
