I did think that Toyota’s overall view might make them think about NASCAR from now on. And how are the other American manufacturers going to justify it as well?
Also, Martin Whitmarsh was effectively running the McLaren team last season, with Big Ron looking over his shoulder (that was the impression I got anyway), so all that has happened is that its now formalised, surely?

If there was not this credit crunch, I’m willing to bet Mercedes would have made a move for ex-Honda with a view to controlling or owning the team outright…
