Kimi Raikkonen: “You always learn from your mistakes, but I’m not particularly interested in understanding last year: we can’t change the way things went, and it doesn’t help us to do things better now.”

Hmm either that is either refreshingly honest or he is condemned to repeat his errors of the past.

  3. what was that? an ad for a concert or f1? that ad sucked.

Although impressive at first sight, the TV ad lacks one thing… racing cars!

  5. I am not sure about the engine rule clarification – if the teams don’t have the people to make the engine changes, why do the rules have to change to stop them happening? Aren’t the teams allowed to use commonsense any more?
They aren’t saying the rules are wrong, since some engine changes may be necessary, and are allowed for. Sometimes you can take the written rules too far!

  6. The point of the engine rule was to help teams cut costs. If they do not specify such rules all the teams will have to employ more people to change engines, in case they want to for a strategic rather than necessary reason.

By specifying that you are not allowed to use a different engine, you are removing the strategic option to change engines and no team will need to bring in more staff.

    1. But if the teams don’t employ enough people, they won’t be making the strategic decisions, since they just won’t be possible to do in time.

    2. The F1 teams will still bring in the strategy people if they can afford it – the decision is simply made on Friday night instead of Saturday morning.
