The new season is almost upon us so it?s time for the traditional round of new season predictions.

Tackle these 15 questions on how the 2009 season will unfold and compare your answers with those of other F1 fans.

    11. None. Ironically enough, if the budget cap rule stays in place then the manufacturers will leave, including Ferrari. We all know that we cant have F1 without Ferrari so the rules will be amended.

    Hard to tell… Depends on the results of the other teams’ protest.
    2. How many cars will be classified at Melbourne?
    8 or 9.
    3. Which driver will be the first to leave his team?
    All the test drivers at the same time.
    4. How many races will McLaren win?
    2 or 3 towards the end of the season.
    5. Who will Fernando Alonso announce he is driving for in 2010?
    Depends on his results with Renault this year.
    6. Which teams will go all season without using KERS?
    Brawn GP.
    7. How many drivers will have to get their front wings replaced after the first lap at Melbourne?
    3 drivers.
    8. Will Renault score more points than Red Bull-Renault?
    I’m guessing yes; they have Alonso, but Red Bull does have two very strong campaigners as well.
    9. Which drivers will win their home race/s?
    Massa, Alonso, Heidfeld.
    10. Will Max Mosley win the FIA President election?
    I really hope not, but the problem is that there’s nobody to stand against him. Yet.
    11. How many teams will announce before the final race they are leaving F1?
    If Mosley remains in his position, 10 teams.
    12. Which of BMW’s drivers will have the best season?
    Kubica.
    13. Will Ferrari win the constructors’ title for the 17th time?
    Hard to tell. I’d give them a fair chance of doing it.
    14. Which driver will announce his retirement?
    Fisichella and probably Heidfeld.
    15. Who will win the drivers’ championship?

    Yes, as high on the podium as you can get.

    Probably more than I would guess.

    3. Which driver will be the first to leave his team?
    No one is dropped during the season.

    4. How many races will McLaren win?
    4, all coming after the half way point.

    5. Who will Fernando Alonso announce he is driving for in 2010?
    Ferrari, but he won’t announce it because everyone will already know.

    6. Which teams will go all season without using KERS?
    Those less technically proficient.

    7. How many drivers will have to get their front wings replaced after the first lap at Melbourne?
    None, which isn’t to say everyone will come around for lap two.

    8. Will Renault score more points than Red Bull-Renault?
    Alonso will score more points than RBR.

    9. Which drivers will win their home race/s?
    Button, Heidfeld, Barrichello.

    10. Will Max Mosley win the FIA President election?
    I wouldn’t call it an election really, would you…at least not in the normal sense of that term…perhaps, a self-ascendancy.

    11. How many teams will announce before the final race they are leaving F1?
    All of them, except Ferrari, to join the new FOTA World Championsip of Rational Racing.

    12. Which of BMW’s drivers will have the best season?
    Heidfeld, with less wins the Robert.

    13. Will Ferrari win the constructors’ title for the 17th time?
    Sorry, we’re going into a Germanic phase.

    14. Which driver will announce his retirement?
    Jarno, Giancarlo, and…………….Kimi.

    15. Who will win the drivers’ championship?
    Rubens, with less wins than Jensen, which proves there is still room for the good-guy to finish first.
