Formula One championship leader Button to be told his Brawn car is legal
"A paddock insider has revealed the court will be reluctant to contradict two sets of stewards who declared the diffusers legal before the Australian and Malaysian grands prix."
Don’t blame Hamilton for lying when it goes on all the time in F1
"The only genuinely credible voice I've heard about the whole affair came from David Coulthard, who said: 'What the public has to understand is that when you go into a stewards' meeting you try to present yourself in the best possible light to get the result you want – not being penalised. It is part of the sport, whether people like it or not.'"
More on that Ferrari reshuffle
"Meanwhile there is some rumour that Ferrari will turn up in Shanghai with a double decker diffuser. This is not the case, apparently. A modified car was shaken down at Vairano last Friday before being shipped out and it features some minor updates to the diffuser as well as the front wing and wheel covers. But it is not a step change in performance, which the double decker diffuser and floor would give. A B spec version of the F60 is expected in Barcelona (presuming that the appeal today fails). The way things are looking Barcelona is going to be like a new start to the season with a bunch of new car launches!"
"Now Kuwaiti bank Bayt Al Mal has announced that it is to fund construction of a one-mile oval complete with a 2.5 mile road course at Fort Erie, on the Canadian side. The aim is to create a home for NASCAR in Canada, but there has already been speculation that the circuit could also become the home of the Canadian Grand Prix."

wow interesting stuff if an insider has said they are legal it could be the truth or to build tension for the fans & a new Canadian circuit? should be interesting if it does actually happen although before it actually gets into f1 i’d love to see Montreal have a few more races

Times have changes manatcna. Luca di Montezemolo has been clashing with FIA for a few months now. Ferrari have a positive relationship with FOM (money rights), not the FIA (any more).
The diffusers have been declared legal.

The F1 track in Ontario story is interesting, however unlikely. The Falls themselves are a major tourist attraction, known for years a a cheap place to run off and get married or honeymoon. It’s tacky, in a poor man’s old Las Vegas way, but the one thing it would provide the F1 crowd is accommodation and eateries.
The more interesting thing about the region is that it is Ontario’s wine growing region. A very warm summer climate means they actually grow a lot of grapes there. It’s on the same latitude as Southern France, so a combined trip of race and a visit to the dozens of wineries in the region might be fun. But I can’t see it happening.
I can’t see the Canadian GP being given to someone other than Montreal, but then again, who can predict Bernie’s remented decisions?

It said a Ferrari had a shakedown at Vairano. Surely that counts as in-season testing?

a shakedown is limited in milage and speed. it is to confirm the car is assembled correctly.

Probably the most sensible thing written about the Hamilton ‘lying’ incident I’ve read to date (apart from on this site of course!). Especially the bit about England crucifying it’s sporting heroes.
I’m just shocked it came from the Daily Mail!

Piers Morgan is only telling it how it is, we are quick to shout HERO!!, and hand out gongs, and medals to our sporting gods, but twice as quick to condemn, and villify, if they do not meet our hippocritical moral code, few if any could meet.
Ferrari are obviously going to hedge their bets, as they allways have, If Braun succeeds, will the others be able to catch up before a slam dunk is in place?

But if many teams are going to be introducing B Spec cars soon, does this mean they will be trying out the new goodies in China practice? Or has everyone been doing some shakedowns?
And with the new rules, are we going to see special cars for Monaco, trying to get more downforce?

Thank heavens this latest blot on the F1 landscape is over. I agree with antonyob…. let’s get back to the track and keep everything crossed for a good, fast, clean, exciting race with nobody facing stewards enquiries! And, no sour grapes and raspberries between the teams.

No sour grapes? Not sure Ferrari would agree with that – they seem pretty unhappy.
