Well if there is a problem were most teams cannot race, you can indeed say "it's your own fault too bad" or "ok lets work this out". Good for you that they indeed told the teams to take a hike. No more Yankee F1 now.

The worst case scenario

he had me going...right up to the point he blames mosley for michelin's defective tires. or is he blaming mosley for adhering to published rules? this is why i no longer read grandprix.com. all that's missing is some hamilton cheerleading, or is that out of style now?

It's taken me a while to come to this conclusion because of what's at stake (the loss of F1 as we know it.)

But all the teams submitting conditional entries for 2010. Drop the conditions, adopt the proposed new rules and deal with it. Just like all F1 competitors always have. Those are the rules of the game...

Anything else is just 'spoiled brat' mentality.

However, maybe this move could go in their favour. If they are told that they don’t have a valid entry for 2010 by the FIA, how can FOM then sue them for breach of contract?

Hadn't really thought of that.
But surely if the Teams have made conditional entires based on the FIA agreeing to certain counter-proposals, they are seeking to vary their original contract with the FIA. Whatever contract(s) the Teams have with FOM, must contain a clause stating that it's a subsidiary contract and dependent on the FIA contract.
Otherwise, the FIA could cease F1 completely and unitlaterally and Bernie would then be able to sue all the teams for not racing in the FIA series, even though the FIA had abandoned it.
