That run was something special, formula one timed runs were then banned and only demo runs allowed.
Getting far too expensive tho and when you have been since it started, you start to see the same cars over and over again.
But it is still one of the hightlights of the motorsport scene!!!

I saw him do that run. Normally F1 cars showboat to the crowd, but Heidfeld was really on a mission that weekend. Minimal wheelspin etc. Quite something to see given the straw bale safety equipment.

When I finally get to Europe this event is high on my list, in conjunction with the British GP wherever it might be held.

I live less than half an hour’s drive away from Goodwood so I like to go every year if I can

I’d give up a trip to a Grand Prix to go to Goodwood. Unfortunately this year I won’t be able to go to either. Life is tough!!! =(

I’m sure the Hamilton bashers will come out en force, just like the Ferrari haters.
What is wrong with wanting to be like your heroes i say? How many of us have wanted to do just that, and how many of us can’t cos we haven’t got the skills. Well Hamilton has been one of those to manage his dream. So he deserves to fulfill that dream at the weekend.

And to those that would complain then DON’T you’re just jealous.

I’d have loved to have made it to Goodwood this year. While there are more of the star drivers and cars on the Saturday and Sunday, the Friday has fewer people and gives you a really good opportunity to look at the cars close up. Tickets are cheaper and you’re more likely to get freebies from the Times, too.

An alternative to Goodwood is the HSSC Superprix at Brands Hatch, also this Sunday – historic F1, F2, F5000, etc echo-ing round the GP circuit all day. Lovely stuff.
