Chris is Mclaren Automotive’s chief test driver, but also works closely as a development driver for the F1 team. He’s a seasoned racer across many formats and currently races a Ferrari in the Fia Gt competition. on top of all that he co-presents for Star (Fox Asia) on F1 and is a an occasional Stig on BBC’s ‘Top Gear’ (most Mercs, Mclarens and that Caparo thing to start with)

I’ve just added some new pictures (at the top of the gallery), was using a new lens hood today which has brought out the colour in some of the cars rather better. Also did some pictures around the pits area of the cars in varying states of disassembly. Have taken over 3,000 photos already and only uploaded a fraction of them!

Wow those 2008 cars look ugly!!

And to think 6 months ago we all thought the 2009 cars looked ugly, now I prefer 2009 to 2008…

He was an aspiring single seater driver, who made it as far as F3000 years ago. He then switched to GTs and drove McLaren F1 sportscars for a while. I think he also does some commentating.

He principally drove in the FIA GT series, but he’s raced everything from Formula Ford to F3000. As well as doing duty with MacLaren antiques he is sometimes an F1 race commentator for ESPN India.
Allegedly, he has also been the Stig on ocassion . . .

Scunnyman, IMHO

1. 1982 the wildest, most tragic season F1 has ever had.
2. 1994 The rise and fall and rise of schumi. And of course, Ayrton’s last races.
3. 1989 It all builds to the most spectacularly tense race at suzuka.
4. 1997 not just Jerez, a great season.
5. 2003 Schumi’s best chapionship, he wasn’t in the best car, or the second best, but still won.

I’d say the MP4-23 in the configuration it’s shown here looks the best of the 2008 cars, before it received its performance enhancing dumbo ears!

I really like the 2009 cars, slick tyres, tall rear wings, proper looking diffusers and front wings low to the ground. Although the 2008 cars were coated in aerodynamic pornography, you’ve got to like the clean lines the cars have this year.
