Here’s a round-up of F1 news and other interesting links I’ve found today.

If you’ve spotted a hot news story, interesting new website or just something funny from the world of F1, please share your links in the comments below.

Davidson: I’ve got unfinished business in F1

"There are a lot of drivers out there in this current climate that are finding drives because of money – it's even affected Formula 1 quite heavily."

Martin Brundle column

"This championship run-in is different because the relative performances of several teams are very close and unpredictable with McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, Williams, Brawn, and Renault regularly in the points and even the podium."

From bad to Badoer in Valencia

"For the Italian Grand Prix at Monza on September, Ferrari must get somebody better on the payroll."

Video podcast of Stirling Moss at the Motor Sport office

"Watch this exclusive footage of Sir Stirling Moss as he joins the Motor Sport team as guest editor of the October issue."

European GP: Was Barrichello Fast or Fortunate?

"Even if McLaren had not made an error and Hamilton had made a pit stop of equal length to Barrichello, I believe that Barrichello would have done just enough to get ahead of Hamilton and would have been able to keep him behind in the ‘dirty air’." A very, very thorough dissection of the Barrichello-Hamilton battle that Martin Whitmarsh himself would be proud of!

  1. well, as long as Davidson can commentate on Five Live while racing, thats fine with me! :)

  2. A very, very thorough dissection of the Barrichello-Hamilton battle that Martin Whitmarsh himself would be proud of!

    Cheers Keith, nice compliment!

I had a lot of fun writing that post – it was difficult to analyse but I think I made a good case. I hope you all enjoyed it ;)

    1. Thanks Gavin….you made that easy to understand even for those of us who are a bit mathematically challenged!

      Cheers,Alex

    2. Gavin, I didn’t have all these graphs and stats in my head during the race, but even without it, I had a off hand calculation that Barichello might come out after his pitstop, between 1 and 2 seconds ahead of Hamilton.
But seeing your analysis, it more than confirms that feeling, as up to that point, Barichello had not put in any erratic lap.
      Good work!

    3. I really enjoyed it. I was convinced that Lewis could have won, but after seeing your excellent analysis, I realise it would have been difficult, but still possible.

  3. Fisichella to Ferrari?

Antonio Lobato e Auto Motor und Sport are telling the same history…

  4. Talking of Ferrari and Badoer: Does anybody know if he got the updated helmet that Old Schuey was going to wear? Or if any of the other drivers have updated helmets for protection now?

    1. Hi DGR-F1,

I did read that Schuberth updated their helmet immediately in time for the European GP in Valencia. I think they replaced a plastic part that holds the visor in place with a titanium disk.
