  1. Had to vote perfect, really enjoyed that race… especially the last lap :D

    1. followed!

  2. 6 from me, probably should have been a 7 though.
Some exciting battles but still not much wheel-to-wheel apart from the Toyotas.

Whatever people say about Hamilton making a stupid mistake, he did liven up the last few laps. Usually the drivers back off in the last few laps and it’s good that he didn’t.

    1. If you want wheel to wheel action, watch IRL. Formula 1 isn’t exactly designed to race like that.

I thought it was a great race. I’m a little sad that the European tracks are over now though because the best races are always those classic tracks.

      1. Yeah I know, I do enjoy F1 for what it is, I was just expecting a bit more overtaking this weekend.

      2. Well, I count Suzuka and Interlagos among ”classics”. I’m especially looking forward to race on Suzuka.

      3. True. He just acts foolishly. Didn’t have to do that. That’s not how championships are won (i know he isn’t a contender this year).
For me, he lost it last year too. And please don’t start with “you have to drive 120 percent the whole race” routine.
        Much to learn.

        1. I wanted to reply to Varun or sykes. Sorry about that

    2. p.s I’m not actually much of a Hamilton fan, before those obsessive haters start chipping in..

You’re all worse than the obsessive fanboys by the way.

  3. I’m glad Hamilton was still trying to push till the last lap even though he didn’t have much chance of overtaking Button. I know that he will be ridiculed for pushing too hard when he could have settled for a respectable 3rd.

Good to see that atleast some drivers don’t just race for points.

Anyways, one thing is pretty clear: The WDC will be a Brawn driver. Vettel can kiss the title goodbye after today.

  4. I just knew…

  6. 8/10 Very good, great, in fact. Along with Spa, two of the best races by this season’s standards. Lots of overtaking early on, lots of scrapping all through the field. Pitstops that went well, pitstops that didn’t. A winning car coming from the middle of the top-10 on the grid. Shame he had to do it in the pits instead of on the track, but thaen that’s par for the course in modern F1. Roll on next year for having to overtake properly.

Shame about Liuzzi’s failure, Sutil’s botched pitstop that eventually cost him 3rd place, and Lewis binning it on the last lap. At least he was going for it, more than some others would have. Kept Button honest right till the end.

Here’s hoping Fisichella shines more under the floodlights in 2 weeks time too.

  7. Great race that keeps the flame the struggle for the Barrichello’s wdc and And thanks to Nelsinho for not having been team orders.

  8. I just loved it when Hamilton crashed. I fell apart as I was laughing.

    1. Did you also fall apart laughing when Surtees crashed and died or when Massa was knocked unconscious when he crashed?

      1. Now that’s completely different isn’t it… Some people.

        1. No. That’s what can happen in crashes and why most people don’t laugh..

      2. You have got to be kidding me…I’m not even going to reply to your question.

        1. Because you know he’s right. No crash is ever funny. Oh I’m sure we’ve all enjoyed a good chuckle at YouTube videos, long after the event when we know no-one was hurt. But to laugh when it happens is infantile.

  9. Bad race and bad for the championship

    1. …if you’re a Red Bull fan. The drivers’ championship has closed up between the only two remaining drivers likely to win it.

  10. A shame we didn’t see whether Hamilton would’ve caught Button on the last lap, looked like they were going to come across the line side-by-side.

Some nice action at the start, mainly thanks to KERS. Other than that it was too much strategy and too little racing.

    1. A shame we didn’t see whether Hamilton would’ve caught Button on the last lap, looked like they were going to come across the line side-by-side.

      What?

      1. Hamilton was one second behind at the line at the start of the last lap, and took 0.2s off Button in the first sector. With a tow, and if he had some KERS left, he could have been very close at the finishing line.

    2. exactly. WHAT?
There was absolutely NO CHANCE Hamilton was going to catch up and overtake Button.

      1. But that’s just it. Lewis himself thought he could catch Button and had he not pushed just a bit too hard, who knows. If you can’t appreciate that then you really don’t know F1. In fact to me the ‘rate the race’ above just shows me that f1fanatic.co.uk is a victim of its own success. Too many generic sports fans passing by…

I loved this race – just a damned good F1 race indeed with Brawn coming up from behind with a perfect strategy and TWO perfect drives. Awesome.

Force India absolutely brilliant – Liuzzi was on great form until a mechanical issue.
And Lewis, fantastic all the way – well, almost all the way :) Love his pure racer aggression. He’s the greatest.

        1. The Finnish Govt must lobby to get Kovalainen knighted. He surely deserves it. Sir Heikki Kovalainen !! Sounds great! the Finnish must be proud, especially Hakkinen.

            13th September 2009, 16:06

Since when did Finland start giving out knighthoods??? Or any country, other than the UK, for that matter. Anyway, what on Earth are you going on about?????

          2. Mussolini: …every other monarchy perhaps?

Which Finland isn’t one of, though.

        2. You have no idea what you’re talking about. I most definitely am not a “generic sports fan”, and I never said I don’t appreciate it. He was wrong, there was no way he could catch up and anyone who knows anything about Brawns and McLarens know that. But what he could have done was getting Button nervous and making a mistake. THAT’S what could have happened. I was just really surprised some people actually thought that he could erase 1 second and overtake in 1 lap after trying so hard for 5 or 6 laps.

          1. FLIG – the ‘generic sports fan’ bit was certainly not aimed at you! Apologies if it came across like that!
I was actually referring to the general tone and I wasn’t clear on that. The general tone being that that was a boring F1 race.
            I thought it was a fantastic race…

        3. This is just sickening. This if-you-dont-agree-with-me-you-dont-know-anything-about-F1 crap again. Who a hell do you think you are, smardo? If you have a good argument to defend your point, feel free to tell us, but don’t come up with this I-am-the-reference fallacy. And by the way, Hamilton probably thought (whatever he though) it pretty wrong in that last lap, didn’t he?

      1. He might have caught him to the line, if he didn’t use his KERS until after coming round the parabolica, but probably not pass him i don’t think. It would have been nice to see it happen, but we’ll never know now. So enough said about it.

        1. I very much doubt he would have passed button anyway,..even if he had set the fastest lap he would have ended up behind him. And logically that seems very unlikely given that he would have had lots of turbulence in the corners following the parabolica.

Its good to see that he was pushing to the very end. But that was little bit embarrassing I must say.

          1. The rate at which he was closing up to Button, he just might have got a small slipstream down to Ascari, and then a major one down to Parabolica. With KERS, he might just have been able to make a move down the inside.

    3. A shame we didn’t see whether Hamilton would’ve caught Button on the last lap, looked like they were going to come across the line side-by-side.

Bit of an exaggeration I feel.

    4. Hamilton was gaining 2 tenths on Button per lap. Don’t think he could have realy closed up since the gap was still a full second when Hamilton passed the finish last.

  11. Another very, very good drive by Raikkonen. Silly hamilton, use your head a bit more mate.

    1. Yeah good drive from Kimi there (I disagree with that other F1 related website, which seems to do nothing but complain and whine about everything), he was never going to be up there in car performance, but he got lucky with an inherited 3rd after keeping Sutil behind him and that pit stop scare…

      1. Just before the start today my girlfriend asked “Who is the better Finish driver?” 3 to 6 months ago I would have said Kovi in a flash as Kimi seemed to have given up.
Today I had no hesitation in saying Kimi, and it felt right, rather than contrived. And then he gets another podium… It’s good to see him on form – he needs to keep it that way!

  12. Great race, 8/10

There was lots of action early on, but after that everybody had found his position.
But Sutil chasing down Raikkönnen was worth watching and then there was the Toyota comedy show…Last lap incident was a bit useless by Hamilton though…

    1. Got to admit the Toyotas were entertaining.

      1. actually I quite liked the Toyota battle :)

  13. Sick of seeing races decided on strategy, bring on no refuelling next year. Feel sorry for Hamilton, though I’m happy for Raikkonen. Disappointing for Red Bull. The only good thing about a Brawn 1-2 is that it was Rubens over Jenson so the title fight stays alive.

    All in all…

    Rubbish

    1. The question is, would a refuelling ban have made this race better by forcing more overtaking. Mabye, but I fear that it would have made it worse because they would probably finished in a very similar order to which they started. If F1 cars cannot overtake each other at Monza, you know there must be some serious problems with the sport.

By the way I gave it 6, an exciting start and end to the race, but virtually nothing happened in the middle

      1. We certainly wouldn’t have had the three cars that were leading at the end of lap one effectively in a different race to the rest of the field.

        1. I wouldn’t have anything against banning re-fueling if they had solved the in-track overtaking problem. But it looks even worse than last year (actually, last year was not so bad). We may end up with no changes in position at all after the start – neither in the track not in the pits.

  14. I usually laugh a lot and ridicule Hamilton when he does stupid stuff like that, but this time I think he was right. He’s not fighting for the championship, he’s not struggling against his team-mate; he can afford to push as hard as he can and find his limits. That’s the only way he’ll know he’s going too far. Best to make mistakes in unimportant races than when deciding the title, maybe next year.

    1. I, agree. Sure some will laugh and make fun of Lewis, but it’s of little value. He gives it all he’s got all the time. That’s what makes him a great champion. Can’t wait for next year. I bet some won’t be laughing and mocking then!

      1. That’s what makes him a great champion.

which part? doing a pirouette ? hehe just j/k, im sure Kimi is happy to get 3rd though ..

He gives it all he’s got all the time.

I am sure he does, but So does every single other driver.

Anyway Hamilton did great, and had plenty of pace despite his commenting that he did not so. They were simply beaten nothing else to be said. However one can not say that the points were not important – because now McLaren are likely to lose against Ferrari in the constructors, and that’s no good for them.

So Lewis needs to learn that sometimes settling for what you got is more important for the team than himself “especially” if its the last lap… anyway.. its all good

        1. I am sure he does, but So does every single other driver.

          Kovi’s performance today indicates otherwise.

  15. when somedriver guide like a champion is always subject to this type of risk, as was the case of Hamilton and Rubens. Great result for the wdc restricted to the two brawn’s driver now and a big-thank to Renaultgate for not having team orders

  16. Good race, not that good like Spa, but still better than most of previous (it’s Spa, Monaco, Monza and Melbourne for me, maybe Bahrain due to overtaking and Malaysia due to “Felipe baby stay cool” :) – the rest I cant even remember too well…)
Hamilton impressed me throuhg out the race but killed that impression crashing at last lap.
And I wonder whats up with RedBull, Kubica was able to overtake Vettel with broken front wing!

  17. I dedicate this song to Heikki Kovalainen :) What a driver!! He’s simply the best!! Better than all the rest!! Better than anyone I’ve ever met !!

    KOVI YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!

    1. Are you being sarcastic here? He may have finished higher than Lewis on this occasion but really, why?

      1. I think he is being sarcastic.. lol

    2. Oh! Sorry, i never meant it to be the Tina Turner version. Here is the song ;)

      1. They aren’t such bad singers, it’s just the stadium accoustics :P

    3. Well…he did get three points. Lewis got nothing. :P

  18. Good race. Nice to see the GP’s at the classic tracks. Monza is so fast and the race goes down so quick that, that alone makes for a good race. One more reason that classic tracks must stay on the calendar. Reubens showed why he should stay with Brawn next year. I was all for Nico going there, but after today, to see Barri get the ax would be wrong. He still has it. Lewis made a mistake, unfortionately, after a really good drive. Alonso also with a really good drive. Liuzzi and Sutil also. Watching Toro Rosso it really is obvious all the resources are going to Red Bull even though RB didn’t have a good day. Regarding STR, gee, maybe it really wasn’t that Bourdais was so bad after all. :-) As far as RB goes, it looks like Vettel took a few lessons from Schuey on how to block.
Probably won’t see as much from the KERS teams in Singapore. Brawn and Force India, and Red Bull too should be good.
All in all, a “good” race.

  19. Great track, good race but terrible for rbr in the championship :(. C’mon Rubens! Toyota’s were the highlights of the race for me.

  20. I can’t believe Hamilton threw away that third place. So disappointing…

You can’t be too critical of the guy, at least he was trying all the way to the end.

    2. Would you really have preferred it if had just settled for third?
In his mind he had nothing to lose except another potential two points by trying to catch and pass Button.
I wish the whole grid had this attitude…

      1. McLaren have everything to lose they are fighting for the constructors against other teams including Ferrari.

  21. Mussolini's Pet Cat
    13th September 2009, 16:08

Lucky Ferrari. If it wasnt for KERS, they would have been ‘bested’ two races on the trot by Force India. Well driven Sutil.

  22. I voted Terrible simply because of the fact that it didn’t have the sort of racing that keeps you hooked like Monza 04.

Yes the Toyota’s battling was brilliant but apart from that the cars were closing on each other but when it came down to it they didn’t really have anything left to pass.

I’m going to admit though for the first time ever I was rooting for Hamilton he was driving fantastically and I wanted him to catch Button and pass him but then he crashed.

Commiserations for Liuzzi he was on course for a points finish but engine problem sealed his fate & Webber well I doubt he would’ve got in the points even if he didn’t crash.

The Red Bull’s are seemingly out of both title races but it’s not the end of the world as long as Rubens can snatch the title instead of Button.

  23. David Coulthard:

    Do you know her?

    Adrian Sutil:

    Not yet.

    1. Best quote of the weekend, I feel. I was in a fit of laughter.

      1. Poor guy, would have been wonderful to see him on the podium.

    2. I thought that was very quick witted, but did you notice him actually have a quick look for where she went LOL ;)

    3. The same women was hanging around another driver later, carrying a big bottle of champaign. I guess she was trying to set up one big party *shocked*

When you see him running, I have my doubts about Sutil though :)
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VkRgUcP_rM

      1. And you would stand there?

      2. OOOOOH Chase me!!!!! ;)

      3. Maybe he’s dyspraxic, I run like a [can’t think of appropriate word] as well and that’s the reason…

    1. Thanks for posting this, looks like using KERS on a exit can be a handful.

      1. I’m amazed that there was no external clip of the crash, considering the chase was the most exciting thing happening at the time.

    2. Was that the same spot where he had wheelspin before?

Brundle commented about it that it was a weird spot to have wheelspin. Not sure if it was this or the next Lesmo where that happened though.

  24. @Random Chimp

    Yer that was funny.

Im not a fan of Hamilton and im from england it was unlucky for him to crash on the final lap but thats just Formula 1 he pushed on hard and he paid the price.

they should just now put all their efforts into 2010 now.

  25. Ok so the title is pretty much wrapped up for brawn which I didn’t really want to see but………

I have to give it up to button. He never folded under the pressure from hammy. Great race and strategy from brawn. I will applaud them. Feel sorry for webber. But vettel is not impressing me at all.

Funny how everybody in the press questions raikkonens commitment but thee is he again on the podium.

Exciting race from the beggining. Lots of fun.

    1. I think that’s an very good point about how well Button did. He only needed a little slip and Hamilton would haven been on the KERS button and through.

    2. How can Vettel not be impressing you at all? He outqualifies Webber at every race and outraces him nearly as often.

  26. Pretty boring race other than Hamilton. Typical modern F1, no actual racing just strategies played out on seperate pieces of the track.

looking forward to losing the strategy nonsense next year when perhaps we might get some actual racing.

  27. How long have you all been watching? Nobody remember cars winning by a lap and cars 3 to 4 laps down. I know nearly all you Brits love him but LH stuffing it on the last lap was the driving of amatures. Mclaren needed the points, he can’t win the WDC but points mean cash to the team. Push as much as you can dou to lose it on the last lap was poor.Emerson won the title here for the first time in 72. Now that was racing just like Stewart in 69. 4 cars in less than 0.2 sec over the line.

    1. Can’t you see that it’s not just fans of Hamilton who are praising him?

The only bias I can see is from the people who hate Hamilton for no real reason and like to criticise everything he does.
As I said before, you’re worse than the people who praise everything he does.

Wouldn’t you rather every driver fought for every position like it was for the win?
I know I would. Even if they make a silly mistake every now and then.
I don’t want to watch drivers trying to win their teams a few million dollars for a place in the constructor’s championship. I want to watch racing.

      1. Wouldn’t you rather every driver fought for every position like it was for the win?

        Well said.

  28. Good race for me, although once the fuel strats were out yesterday i guess we all knew that it would be a Brawn 1-2. But great drive from Rubens, I’m suprised that Jenson couldn’t make more of a fight of it though. Lewis was obviousley ringing the neck of that McLaren, I think Kovis performance indicates that the car really isn’t all that good still, it’s just Lewis that makes the difference, I’m a bit suprised by McLaren taking a glory hunter attitude and leaving lewis that short on fuel, I would have thought with havin a KERS launch the could have started him further down the grid on a 1 stop, I think he could have made 7-8th. Perhaps they had tyre issues.

  29. Well usual pure stragegy “session”, I wouldn’t call it a “race”, qualifying session 2 would be more appropriate.

    1. You could always watch something else

  30. I agree with Mark totally, we want to see RACERS and that is why some of us are such big fans of Lewis.

He is the most exciting driver since Mansell and Gilles Villeneuve.

I think those that think a driver should cruise for points are kind of watching the wrong sport really.

    1. “He is the most exciting driver since Mansell and Gilles Villeneuve.”

No disrespect meant, but you sir, have been hibernating for long! i’m certain that Hill Vs Schumacher, Schumacher Vs Villeneuve jnr., Schumacher Vs Mika, Schumacher Vs DC, Schumacher Vs Kimi, Schumacher Vs Alonso, Schumacher Vs Schumacher, Schumacher Vs Montoya, Kimi Vs Alonso Vs Hamilton… most of the world, we certainly did find it entertaining enough.

Yes, we didn’t have many british drivers come out of those scraps winning :P but boy was it fun…

You know what, we even have the greatest overtaking move ever during that time (mika on schumacher, spa 2000)… Schumacher doing 4 stops to Alonso’s 3 and yet winning the race… 2 Imola’s where they were chasing each other’s tails… DC going on the outside of Schumacher, french gp. Montoya overtaking Schumacher only to be undone in a lap or two. Brothers Schumacher squabbling at imola and a couple of other races.

I could go on and on. Frankly speaking… i guess you don’t have a clue about what you are speaking!!!

I do not see so many people speaking positively about Button as much as i would like… despite him wiping the floor with the rest of the field in the initial part of this championship. Was that not good enough driving?

Yes Hamilton is good. I’ll say that again slowly so most people can follow… “he’s good. quite good. great? don’t think so!!!”

Before you accuse me of some bias, i’m an indian, bloody neutral as hell and appreciate skill and speed more than nationality.

Teams i root for: Williams and Ferrari

Man i respect most in the pitlane… Sir Frank, for the way he carries himself with much dignity.

  31. I rated it 6, only because I felt the actioned tapered off a little after a great start. I enjoyed it though and it was good to see the 2 championship contenders at the front for the first time in a while. This bodes well for the run in.

As for the people on here laughing at Hamilton and rejoicing in his failure and humiliation… May I suggest you get out of the house, meet some people, have some fun, generally get a life because you need a distraction from your anti-Hamilton issues. The guy isn’t in contention for the championship, McLaren aren’t anywhere near the constructors title so he was going for it and trying to finish as high as possible. He went off, so what? It made a refreshing change to see a driver going for it on the last lap.

And I’m not a Hamilton “fanboy”, just a fan of motor racing so someone racing right to the flag will always get my support.

  32. I didn’t enjoy this race a whole lot. Had some trouble keeping my eyes open. It was more like a battle of maths rather than a battle on track.

Of course most of the drivers really put in a great effort, but when it’s all about strategy, it just doesn’t translate well to the TV.

I guess Hamilton showed just how much he was trying. While Kovalainen and Vettel seemed keen on showing how not ro drive a race. Guess they picked the wrong tyres for the first stint or something.

  33. I just can’t believe some 23 people rated this race as “terrible” or “rubbish”…

Nice Brawn strategy, nice combativity from Ham., nice Toyota fight, tense start wthout casualties, a FI/Ferrari battle… Plenty to look at.

    Bye bye Europe though…

    1. I reckon they musta been McLaren fans. For me, i was happy to see Rubinho winning again. Brawn surprised me!!! Loved the race.

  34. I rated it good as I enjoyed the race, although obviously I’m not happy about the result for the championship. The Red Bulls are basically out of the running now, and even though it wouldn’t have happened it makes me sad that it’s now mathematically impossible for Kimi to win the WDC even if he won every race and the top four guys failed to score.
I’ll be rooting for Barrichello now as far as the WDC goes. He deserved that win today; for most of the race he seemed to outperform Button.
I loved the Toyota battle, it was great to see Sutil finally in the points, and I thought Hamilton’s late charge was good to watch even though it ended badly.
I’m sad that F1 is leaving Europe now…it’s way too soon to all being over for another year.

  35. Knew we’d get a load of Kimi hype again, come on guys he’s a very good driver but don’t milk it. On average he’s put in the best performance over the last 4 races, but I don’t think he’s been the best driver in any single one of those races, except maybe Spa (personally I though Vettel’s late charge was slightly more impressive but Kimi’s performance did deserve Driver of the day consideration, don’t think I’m knocking him for no reason).

I only wonder, what would Massa have done?

    1. It’s probably a coincidence, but perhaps Raikkonen does better when Massa’s not around? Just a thought.

  36. Sorry but apart from history why oh why is Monza such a great track…?

Along with Barcelona and Valencia another ho hum rubbish track.

I actually fell asleep after LH pit stop. Only shame I didn’t see him bin it.

    1. Because it’s all about speed. It’s immensely fast, straight line speeds are way higher than anywhere else. It’s an extreme track – just like Monaco is exceptionally tight and slow, and Spa is all about the fast corners.

And if it doesn’t produce great racing then I don’t give a stuff because overtaking isn’t the only thing that makes F1 great. Seeing a pack of cars go by at 220mph is pretty impressive too.

      1. go and watch champ cars then…lol

I cant see how going in a straight line fast is any more entertaining than the drags. Flood the track and it is an enjoyable round.
Considering how many better tracks to watch Italy has too….

Every year it is the only track I am guaranteed to fall asleep watching, and has been now for as far as memory serves me (apart from last year).

        1. Unfortunately this year they didn’t reach 220mph :( thought they’d go close or over that.

  37. That was one of the best races and one of the most important. The top drivers in the championship needed to leave Europe with good performances and the Brawn boys passed with flying colours.
As for Hamilton, he just made a simple mistake. The Brawn cars were rocketships all afternoon long, on a strategy that really put Lewis under the cosh. The Lesmo series of corners are well known for producing such crashes as they are both 100mph plus inwhich the driver uses all the kerb then some on exit. As soon as I saw Hamilton had crashed it was obvious what had happened. Vettel and Trulli were both lucky to escape their moments there too.
What fascinated me was the moment during the BBC feed, just before the drivers went on the podium, inwhich you can clearly hear Button discussing Lewis’ crash. One can only wonder what Kimi thought as he approached his former machine, stricken by the side of the road?
Great race, great drama, and no one got hurt. 7/10.

  38. Big shout out for Lewis, two tumbs up mate. He proved that there are still “real” racers in today’s F1 scene. Adrian and Kimi was also great. Too bad Vitantonio had a mechanical Breakdown. Who knows what might’ve happened if he didn’t.
This is how an F1 Race should be.
Also, Big Thanks to F1 fanatic’s twitter feed, I translated your live feed and post it for my mates in the Indonesian W202 club, who couldn’t watch the race, they all say it was awesome.

  39. The race would have been rather processional were it not for the fact that I could only watch a full recording of the race (not the live broadcast) and my mother-in-law had already said “oh, whatshisname crashes out on the last lap” – she forgot the name of the driver. So it would have been dull, but instead it was a nail-biting countdown to the last lap knowing that someone would be crashing out.

  40. @sri……
‘I could go on and on. Frankly speaking… i guess you don’t have a clue about what you are speaking!!!’

Mmm…..Well, I have watched every GP event since 1982, and I have been to 33 races ‘live’ as well. So I think I might have some clue.

I think you are entirely missing my point with your extensive list of F1 highlights. I agree you brought up some great moments, but they are entireley besides the point. What I was saying was that Lewis is an exciting, hard-charging RACER, in the same mould as Mansell and Villeneuve snr. Your example of MS once winning despite an extra pitstop is a perfect example of your ignorance. Whilst this was an impressive driving achievement, it really has little to do with racing where drivers fight each other on the track. It seems to me more and more that recent fans of the sport are often totally unable to understand this.

Your rating of Hamilton as ‘good, quite good’, is hilarious and once more indicative of a simple lack of understanding. I am not going to go into a long defence of LH here, because I really would be wasting my time.

Good to trade posts with you though…….:)

  41. @Paul Sainsbury, you would be wasting time defending LH because he is good nothing else.Great divers are made over years. Not a good idea to bring up how long or how many GP’s you have seen as that gets easily beaten by many here(watched since 1970 been to over 60 races). Can we just say the people who rated this race 1 or 2 and 9 or 10 were not really interested in the race, only the result.

  42. “What I was saying was that Lewis is an exciting, hard-charging RACER, in the same mould as Mansell and Villeneuve snr.”

Lewis for certain had his share of races. But is he Clark or Moss or as you say Villeneuve Snr., i don’t think so.

“Your example of MS once winning despite an extra pitstop is a perfect example of your ignorance”

Why good sir, would you tell me that making one extra stop than normal and still winning a race was not being inspired enough? That was not the only time when we saw the genius that Michael Schumacher at work, was it? No am not talking about Jerez or Adelaide. You’d know better than that, having watched all races since, ’82 was that?

Once again, i don’t mind Hamilton as much as i mind the idiotic press and fans levitating him towards sainthood. My assessment is precise. He’s just earning his ranks and he more than anyone else needs to acknowledge as much. Or, like in case of Raikkonen as we saw, he’ll be caught by a Massa (a man with much less god given talent but helluva lot more tenacity and panache)and left in his wake.

    1. Sorry Paul, i made a couple of mistakes, cos i was typing fast and well hiding from everyone. I’m at work. LOL. But i love a good discussion, as long as we are all level headed. I regret that i was a little curt in my earlier posts, but what i state is pure fact and i stand by that.

  43. I am very glad for Rubens and my congratulations to Button as well. Still don’t understand why everyone is wasting energy defending or laughing at LH crash. It was a race incident, whether he was pushing or was a simple mistake, he only knows. A pity nevertheless as he is getting stronger every race. A different subject I don’t think HK will be in Mc next year.

  44. @ sri

I also enjoy a good discussion, no hard feelings, we are all fans and I think on this site there is a good level of respect….:)

    @rampante

I understand your point about people rating the race a 1 or 2. I can honestly say though, at least as far as I am concerned (I rated it a 3) that it was because it was mainly stategy rather than racing that is was a little flat.

    1. I rated it a 3 because it was dead set boring, LeMans 24hrs had more action and cars went fast there too. This ‘temple of speed’ bs is non sense.

Well Done RB keep it going.
