Rain and low temperatures at Interlagos

A few splashes of rain turned last year’s Brazilian Grand Prix into a heart-stopping thriller of a championship finale.

The early weather forecast for this weekend indicates the Interlagos track will be hit by rain again this year – but most likely not during the race.

Although some weather services are forecasting rain on all three days, the consensus seems to be that Sunday will be largely dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms.

The forecast will become clearer as the race gets closer. Keep an eye on the Brazilian Meterological Office for its forecast – so far it only goes as far as Friday, when it predicts thunderstorms in southern Sao Paulo. It’s also worth noting the relatively low temperatures at the moment – struggling to reach 20C, much less than we’re used to seeing at Interlagos.

Accuweather also does a useful hourly breakdown.

Any updates on the weather situation as the race gets closer will be posted here and on the live blogs during each session.

Let it rain ! I want to see the WDC decided in Abu Dabbi !

Vettel should go well in the rain, along w/ Lewis.

    best result -
    VET 1st
    BAR 2nd
    BUT DNF
    so 85, 79, 79

    or…
    BAR 1st
    VET 2nd
    BUT DNF
    so 85, 81, 77
    ?

      Best Result
      But 1st
      Bar 2nd
      Rai 3rd
      with Vettel a DNF

      Thus:

ok best result for a champ showdown I meant.

        • I want Barrichello to win on home soil and Jenson to take home a second. (but not to start in those positions)

I’d be surprised if Jenson doesn’t take the title on the fact I think its either likely Barricello/Vettel will not be consistant enough and/or likely Button will pick up the few points he needs. Either way I don’t see it being an exciting end – I’d rather see a good race to decide it with a good victory for Barrichello.

At Friday 11:40 GMT it’s predicted a wet race on Sunday from the BBC. Still time for it to change.

  4. Fingers Crossed for Rain as the odds on the Safety Car coming out are a very nice 1.85 on Betfair and well worth a punt.
