Yeah the whole McLaren/Sauber stalling wing thing is really interesting but has generally only made waves on the tech-centric F1 sites.

haha perhaps, I think there might be one or two similarities with this years Red Bull also. Do Torro Roso use pull-rods too?

Yeah that certainly makes a lot more sense. As you can see I was very surprised if that was the case as the variable exhaust speed makes it tough.

Red Bull also has what appears to be a significant cooling outlet in the centre rear of the car, which will see warm air seep over the rear wing.

Interesting McLaren seems to be experimenting with trying to stall the airflow over the rear wing to reduce drag (I suspect).

Will be a little more in part 3 before the season kicks off

I think that is rather funny, putting fake exhaust stickers on the car to try and fool the other teams, I wonder if any teams did fall for it.

John - I just surfed GPUpdate.net this morning, AND, were you aware the the exhaust pipes on the RB6 were indeed stickers and actually fake?!(im refering to those sitting high on the engine cover and forcing air over the rear wing). Well Sutton images photographed it really well. How does that now impact your analysis of the RB6 - im an Aussie and worship Mark Webber LOL! But, i guess in testing it hasn't changed any of their times, but could be beneficial to how their diffuser works? Would love to hear your thoughts. Oh, and thanks for all the other thoughts you provided in this article - a great read.

It looks like Red Bull may have put one over on us all. Seems the high exhaust won't be a problem blowing over the rear wing since it was just stickers.

So the large fuel tank will push most of the major masses backwards so it will shift. Also teams have moved to longer gearboxes in order to optimise the DD
