I’m glad Webber didn’t take pole position. That might sound unpatriotic, but the morons who call themselves commentators have been talking him up all week. I like it when they get put in their place because they like to make out that they’re all experts on the sport when they know nothing about it.

      1. wow, you’re ‘glad’? you’d probably get into a fight if you were at the track today, and I’d help out, instead of talking crap about webber for no reason at all (your reason has nothing to do with webber)

Every year it’s the same story: Webber this, Webber that. He’s good, but given the way the press rave about him, you’d be forgiven for thinking he’s the second coming of Ayrton Senna. I’ll be happy if he does well, but at the same time, I’d love to stick it to everyone who only ever care about him for three days in the year.

          1. I dnt think it’s that bad as you make out to be. For em it’s more like Vettel this Vettel that. And what do you expect, Australian GP with Aussie commentators. If you dnt like it then go watch F1 in French.

Yeah, you haven’t heard the Australian commentators, have you? If Webber was driving an Hipania, they’d be insisting that he was a sure thing.

Seriously, when Webber topped FP3, the commentators went and calculated the “exact margin” Webber would win the race by. They took the difference he beat Alonso by and multiplied it by fifty-eight.

So in Monza 2006, they thought Kimi Raikkonen would win over Schumacher by 0.106s? (0.002s x 53)

            3. Yes I have heard the Aussie commentators, I have heard them all weekend. No matter where the commenators are always gonna yap on about there home driver.

Nope. They only care about Webber. They no doubt thought Webber would beat Raikkonen and Schumacher at Monza in 2006.

          2. And what about the people who care how he does over the whole season?

            1. I think just because you don’t like the commentators shldn’t make you glad Webber didn,t take pole..

      2. Could not agree more. Greg Rust is really getting on my nerves. Thank god Bairds there so we atleast get some slightly educated comentary and comments.

        1. It’s the same with Hamilton and Button at the British GP though, they went overload on it.

      3. he was only 1/10th off vettel PM…

    4. I agree but wanted Webber to take pole.. jst to shut the Webber bashes up but in your case the commentators also. Webber was only a tenth off.

    5. Schumacher again behind Rosberg! But Schummi has a cleaner side of the track so I hope he will pass his teammate just after the start :D

    6. Schumi FTW !!
      @krtek – I second that

Does anyone knows about the tires? Is anyone in top10 on harder compound??

        27th March 2010, 8:00

some are on the Soft compound and some are on the Harder ones i think Vettel and Webber and Alonso should be all on softs while the Mercedes Drivers should be on harder ones

        1. Think they are all on soft. Its the tyre you did your fastest run on, merc did slower last run on the hards.

    7. did everyone opt for the softer tire this time around? or was kubica n sutil on hard ones??

btw the race will be decided by safety cars..

      1. why u think it will be decided by SC?

    8. Good job Jenson.

Im Very Dissapointed with Lewis today i think it was a lack of downforce or grip and a wrong choice of tyres that cost him going into Q3.I was completely shivering and shocked that Lewis didnt make through Q3 i almost cried once he was 2.4-2.7 seconds off the pace in the first sector on his last flying lap that was it really.Button, i was pretty satisfied with, he gave it everything on that car in qualifying and came out with 4th good effort.Anyway tomorrow we will see every1 knows the austrailan gp so much drama and action and lewis with his fast starts and choice on tyres his got he’s could be very likely to get some points this weekend.btw Well done Mark and Seb for Red Bull.

      1. I don’t think it was only Hamilton’s fault. I don’t understand why they let him go out a second time with the same soft tyres he went out the first time. Isn’t the soft only good for one or two quali laps?
If he was in the harder he would have done better.

i mean i think we (Mclaren) are 7 tenths off redbull and half a second down on ferrari in terms of raw pace.If were not far behind them and last year we did an outstanding comeback from being 3.5 seconds off the pace i think possibly we will be level with Red bull’s pace and ferrari’s as well by Spanish or Monaco GP in May and in Monaco we’re very very very Strong and we will give a big fight and have a big chance of winning there.

At Melbourne is there a dirty side of the grid or a clean side of the grid? Are there any advantages or disadvantages like at other tracks?

      1. Yeah i think so. The melbourne circuit isn’t used very much during the year as it is public roads and I noticed in qualy there seemed to be quite a lot of dust off line so this could be a disadvantage to the even numbered grid placings. That said, though, it looked fairly dusty on the racing line as well so I guess we’ll have to see tomorrow.

      2. Clean side is 1st, 3rd, 5th and so on I think

        1. The ‘Clean Side of the Grid’ Isnt such a big deal in Melbourne. In most of the support races that Ive seen, starting on the even numbered side of the grid hasnt proved to be a disadvantage. Also the even numbered side is on the inside of turn one so any negative is out-wayed by the fact they have a clearer run into the first turn.

          1. yeah the clean side on any f1 track is on the inside of the first corner i think…

    12. Really big team mate disparities today at Ferrari, Renult, McLaren, Torro Rosso.

    13. This is first time ver, when Red Bull gets 1-2 in qwal.

    14. go Jensen… finally starting to show that hamilton isn’t the god-king that everyone thinks he is… Button is just as fast

      1. then neither is alonso

    15. would be nice to see the gap times too!

        1. thanks, but I meant in the ‘grid’ diagram above! :) -for easier comparison.

    16. Did any of you read this about Schumi complaining about Alonso and Hamilton blocking him in qualifying?
      http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/82459

He wants to take it up with Withing! Maybe if he would join the GPDA and not be scared of getting complaints about his own driving antics, they could just resolve it between them.

    17. So the 107 % is really bogus. HRT did a total of maybe 400-450 km on track with 2 rookies and already gets below 108% of a lap record pole position.

    18. Can a driver start and finish the race on one tyre without bieng penalized?….if not whats the least pit stops can a driver do?

      1. I think there’s one mandatory pit stop (so both types of tyre can be used). Stupid rule, I know.

    19. I’m thinking about Vettel, and if he’s really in such a great position. he’s got pole, but on his pole lap he really wrestled with the car, and I just wonder if he might not have taken too much out of the tyres, which would leave him vulnerable at the start.

    20. With some forecast of rain, the race might spring a surprise. Expect Schumi and Sutil to break into the top 5 if it rains.

    21. Hamilton’s pretty handy in the wet, too
