Neither HRT was running at the finish in Monaco but Chandhok was a classified finisher despite his alarming collision with Jarno Trulli on lap 70.

Karun Chandhok

Was on course for a finish and was holding off Trulli when the Lotus driver made an optimistic attempt to overtake at Rascasse.

Trulli crashed down on top of Chandhok’s car and the Indian was fortunate to escape injury:

I am extremely frustrated by the outcome of the race. Jarno hit me out of nowhere but he has apologized for the incident. We were looking good to finish in thirteenth position but we are still the best of the new teams. It has been my strongest race of the season.

Bruno Senna

Senna embarked on roughly the same strategy as Alonso, changing to the medium tyres on lap two. He reckoned he would have made it to the end without changing tyres again but a hydraulic failure put him out with 20 laps to go.

  1. Bruno appeared to have a much better weekend. He out qualified his team-mate by over a second, and with the early stop was in front of his team-mate by a large margin before a SC brought everyone together again. Unlucky with the hydraulic failure in the end.

  2. Not entirely sure how Chandhok claims to have been best of the new teams. Trulli was only behind him because he had a very long pitstop.

Perhaps he collected a whack on the head at some point?

    1. I think because none of the others have finished as high as fourteenth, meaning HRT are technically now 10th in the standings ahead of Virgni and Lotus.

By the way Virgin and Sauber seem to have built their cars HRT could beat them in the championship standings.

        Which is mental.

        1. It is, HRT are actually getting more finishes than Sauber! rather disgraceful. HRT have impressed me by just attending the race, let alone finishing them.

          1. Perhaps he meant in that race, or in terms of improvement over the course of the grand prix? I’m not sure, if his English isn’t up to scratch for example then he maybe worded it wrongly, who knows.

Sauber’s performance is the biggest disappointment of this year after their pre-season testing performance.

  3. I agree with Karun, he had quite a good race and seems to be improving all the time.

  4. i think Chandock is slightly quicker than Senna at the moment. Will have to wait until the end of the season for a better picture.

    1. I don’t know, Senna has out-qualified his team-mate every time but once so far. He has also always been in front in the race until his car has broken down.

Although a lot of people agree with you… but I feel like it’s just because Karun appears to get more TV time, and is a very nice chap.

  5. I like HRT, they have a good looking car…it’s too bad they werent able to test it. Also…too bad for Sauber :(

  6. I think this internet site has got very excellent indited written content articles.
