  1. The qualifying session is on BBC2 rather than BBC1

      1. The BBC TV schedules has qualifying on BBC2 at 17:00

        http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00sszzy

    1. I’ve had a look at several other TV guides and most of them seem to say BBC2.

      1. OK according to Jake Humphrey it’s on BBC2 and he should know! Have updated the article.

  2. “*BBC’s website says their coverage will end 30 minutes before second practice finishes – this may be a typo.”

It might not be – at 7.30pm on Friday the Uruguay v France world cup game kicks off. It may be that they will switch the red button to something to do with that.

Although FP3 clashes with Argentina v Nigeria so who knows!

    1. I Tweeted Sarah Holt to ask, she’ll probably know.

      1. I’m slightly star struck. I guess this is what comes of being a grand fromage f1 blogger.

        No, just a bit jelous.

        Did she have news?

        1. +1 there.. ;)
We’ll find out, the timing’s known, so just flick through 1 & 2 to find out!
Anyway, there’s the England vs USA match after Qualifying..

  3. PS Keith do you know what kind of TV/online coverage we will get in the UK for Le Mans?

    1. It’s live on Eurosport (and in HD!)

      1. “why you should watch…”

        Le mans 24H..

        1. it is awesome!
        2. See #1

        1. And this year it’s going to be even more awesome than ever, especially at the front and in GT2. :D

          1. GT1 should be great as well, and so for that matter will LMP2!

Gonna be a bad weekend, Le Mans starts at 10 or 11pm local, coverage through the night, then I’ve got a wine festival on sunday, back for the last 4-5 hours of the race, then stay on for Canadian GP (start ~2am).

It’ll be hard enough, but add in drinking red wine all sunday……………..

          2. in seriousness though, wicked lineup this year. Peugot’s will be doing all they can to win again, Audi are desperate to regain “their” race (the R15 has had a pretty major redesign), Mansell and sons (sounds like a carpentry business) have an LMP1 car between them, Corvette Racing dropping down to GT2 and taking on some new BMW M3’s (plus the usual collection of Porsches and Ferraris). Matech, VDS and AMR coming in from the GT1 World Championship, Patron Highcroft coming over from the US for LMP2……

Mansell (x3), Bourdais, Montagny, Sarrazin, Grosjean, Brabham, Ickx, Wurz, Gene, Lamy, Davidson, Prost, McNish, Albers, Andretti, Magnussen, Bruni, Fisichella, Alesi, Salo……. the list of names just goes on and on, and thats only names which are linked to F1. Add in big name sportscar drivers or other open wheel series……

          Right on brother.

      2. OK thanks. Do we know of any highlights packages on any freeview channels though?

Or am I going to have to stump up to watch Eurosport online?

      3. Do you know if there’s any free coverage on the internet, either through the eurosport or le mans website?

  4. correct times listed here:
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tv_and_radio/5345480.stm

    Friday 11
    Formula One
1455-1635 Live coverage of the Canadian Grand Prix first practice session
1855-2035 Live coverage of the Canadian Grand Prix second practice session

  5. Just in case there is any ambiguity, quali is on BBC2 and the race is on BBC1- man this is confusing!!

Is rain a possibility in Montreal!?!??!?!

    1. Who knows, but at Montreal, we don’t need it! :D

    2. yep sure is. but as david says, it doesn’t matter.

    3. Yes, it’s been raining a lot here and forecasts say (for a couple already) it’s gonna rain on sat and sun. yay!

      1. for a couple days, of course.

    4. It’s been raining quite a bit in Toronto, so who knows?

  7. What’s Canada like? Is it similar to Australia, in terms of the track

    1. weaaaaal kidon’tknowabouthat

It’s faster and slower, I’ve always thought of it as Monza oversea. Monza in town. Awesome. Monza, admitedly without Ascari and Paribollica.

The walls are a little bit closer I think, an the nature of the track, does throw up as many saftey cars, but er, differently.

What i’ve meanderingly said here is, that it is an it isn’t.
Maybe a little bit but the character is very different.

    2. Lots of chicanes and straights, more like monza

Calum I would descirbe it as like Monza, but with concrete walls on the exits of the chicane….
      And groundhogs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6szAhX8oJE

      1. I wouldnt describe it as like anything – It’s pretty unique.

  8. Here in ‘Murka, just a shade south of Canada, P2 and quali are on Speed.
BUT note the race is on Fox, 9am PST (Midday East coast).

So either there’s zero pre-race or it won’t be actually live. Or maybe my TV listings are off. These tape delays keep me away from the live blogs and I resent that!

    Howdy Australians!

ONE HD has Qually and the Race both live.
Qually is on Sunday morning at 3AM
The race is on Monday morning at 2AM (Both times, Eastern States)

AND Le Mans is on from 22:30PM Saturday to 2:30AM followed by 12 1/2 hours of coverage on Sunday.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, ONE has been the best thing to ever happen for Motorsport fans in OZ.

AND if you feel like woosing out on the race Monday morning it is IMMEDIATELY followed by Australia v Germany in the World Cup so do the double!!!!!

    1. haha, sweet as

No uni, no work anymore so I’ll be up.

    2. Cant wait :) Ive got my weekend planned:

Le Mans Saturday Night, followed by F1 and Isle of Man. A few hours sleep then more Le Mans.

Sunday night Le Mans finish, F1, Australia v Germany and Isle of Man. Gonna be a late one :)

Thank god for the Queens Birthday Public Holiday

It is going to be so freaking Awesome!!!!!

    3. “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, ONE has been the best thing to ever happen for Motorsport fans in OZ.”

Yes I cannot agree more. The only problem is getting the TV off ABC3 from the kids! All this free to air digital TV is awsome!!!

  10. i there any webside that can let us watch the race on a phone?

    1. Within the UK, presumably you can do it over iPlayer?

  11. Coverage of qualifying is delayed in Northern Ireland until 7.20pm, it’s live on BBCi though

  12. oh heck, what a sporting weekend.. F1, Le Mans & Footy footy footy…Cant wait.

  13. Keith, do you know whether FOX or SPEED will be showing the race here in the states? I keep looking for info online and I’m getting conflicting info from different sites. This is one of my only chances to get to watch a race live here and I can’t find out what channel! D:

    1. FOX is showing it live on Sun noon ET, SPEED shows it on Tue Jun 15th at noon ET.

      1. Quali is on SpeedTV on June 12th at 4h30pm ET.
