Buemi blames Barrichello for missing Q3

Sebastien Buemi was happy with his best qualifying position of the year at Valencia but said he could have qualified in the top ten.

The Toro Rosso driver blamed Rubens Barrichello for holding him up on his best lap in Q2:

It’s my best qualifying result of the season and I did not expect to do so well before the start of the session, which is a reason to be pleased.

On the other hand, I am a bit disappointed because Barrichello was ahead of me going into the final corner on my last flying lap and he really slowed me down. He was on his slowing down lap, but it cost me two tenths which should have seen me finish higher than eleventh.

To be honest, I’m not sure why the car worked so well today, because we have not changed anything since Canada.

Buemi missed the cut for Q3 by 0.034s, Vitaly Petrov making it through in tenth place.

    1. interesting, another Ferrari powered car suddenly improving on a track without the team having a clue as to why it is.

But Buemi is quite a lot in front of his team mate and who knows what happens at the start. He might be happy to be behind petrov and Hülkenberg and with Kobayashi and Pedro dlR quite a stretch behind he might make it through the first corners without being hit, like in Canada, and score decent points in the race.

    2. I hope he gets the chance to prove himself in the future (next season) as he seems to be improving well. Good luck tomorrow..

    3. I wonder if Rubens will see another year in F1?
