    1. Impressive drive by Kobayashi, I must say!

      1. Yeah he finally showed his skill from the last two races last season. Definatly driver of the race in my eyes.

On another note good to see Mark walk away from that almighty crash. And cheer up Alonso, it could have been you!…

      2. Absolutely, I was cheering loudly at the television as he made his moves. I’ve been wondering before this race why teams weren’t attempting to run the hards long and then switch to the softs when the car had less fuel and offered a heavy advantage over others nursing tire/fuel/brakes…

I think the problem with that is the possibility of a safety car. If the safety car has to come out in the first laps, you can’t last on soft tires for the remaining distance. If it’s the reverse, you will be able to change to hard tyres and then last the remaining distance.

On a track with a low probabilty of a safety car it would be a very good option, but not for a driver aiming for the championship (collecting points)

    2. It should say “European Grand Prix result – for now”

    3. Alonso really needs to get over 2007. Hamilton broke the rules he got punished with a drive through and luck of the draw dictated that he rejoined in the place that he was in before the penalty. I’m so sick of this grudge that Alonso has over Hamilton, it shows a huge level of immaturity on Alonso’s part and it seems to now be spilling into Ferrari.

      1. Hamilton is one of his biggest championship rivals, Hamilton got off lightly as they delayed giving him the penalty for whatever reason. Which made the difference between Hamilton in 2nd and Hamilton in , possibly 7th?

Alonso has every right to be ****** off.
Keep in mind I do not like him.

    4. The full result with times if the investigated cars got 20sec penalties:
      1. Vettel
      2. Hamilton +5.0
      3. Button +27.6
      4. Kobayashi +30.9
      5. Alonso +32.8
      6. Barrichello +40.6
      7. Kubica +42.1
      8. Rosberg +44.3
      9. Sutil +45.1
      10. Massa +46.6
      11. Alguesuari +48.2
      12. Schumacher +48.8
      13. Buemi +51.2
      14. de la Rosa +62.4
      15. Petrov +63.2
      16. Liuzzi +65.8
…And the new teams as they finished.

      1. I think Rubens was a rather large loser in this, which is a pity, as he worked hard for his position.

    5. Alonso has lost it! Rather than keep to his race, he was askin about Hamilton. no wonder his team asked him to be wise and kool, not silly and angry

    6. Kobayashi congratulations, what a result, different tactics that certainly proved worth while.

great pass on Alonso and Buemi to get into 7th place, and with penalty’s maybe to be handed out you could end up even better off.

    7. I guessed Button and Kubica correctly :D

    8. really unlucky for De la Rosa…
      good job KOB!!!

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is no race at Valencia next year… the FIA screwed up HORRIFICALLY with the safety car after Webber’s crash; if they had done it right, they would have waited and come out in front of Vettel and not in front of Hamilton; because of that stupid blunder, the results were all screwed up. Personally, I love it when that happens, but not when the FIA completely messes it up like that. In the end, it didn’t change much, but it was still a stupid move on their part. On the other hand, congrats to Kobayashi! After that performance, I think his chances of getting a ride next year are greatly improved!

      1. Your right, I can’t see why the safety car couldn’t have just waited at the end of the pit lane to pick up Vettel.

In fact just to be sure, The Stewards could have informed Vettel that he was to be picked up, so there would be no confusion.

    10. Are Ferrari going to complain about these penalties too? Since the first three places haven’t changed and Alonso isn’t promoted to winner? :-)
