Ten drivers get penalties, Alonso and Rosberg gain extra points (Updated)
Nine drivers have been handed time penalties after the European Grand Prix. All the drivers investigated for the speed behind the safety car received five-second penalties: Jenson Button, Nico Hülkenberg, Rubens Barrichello, Robert Kubica, Vitaly Petrov, Adrian Sutil, Vitantonio Liuzzi, Sebastien Buemi and Pedro de la Rosa. Alonso fumes after Hamilton penalty, Ferrari calls result “a scandal”
Fernando Alonso called the result of the European “unreal and unfair” after falling from third place behind the safety car to ninth at the chequered flag (before being promoted to eighth). Jenson Button and eight other drivers are under investigation following the European Grand Prix. Webber hits Kovalainen and flips (Video)
Mark Webber’s European Grand Prix came to a dramatic end when he crashed violently with Heikki Kovalainen.
