   We’re all just looking at the Ferrari’s here aren’t we?
   I’m surprised how well and close to Alo was at times on the harder tyre. That will be looked at by many others too. Maybe he’ll get some better results with them now or Fernando was just in control for a lot of the time and stuck behind, in dirty air or whatever.

   How bad would it have been for Ferrari if Massa suddenly set the flap at the end.

      I am sure he was not really in the mood for something like that (that was Kimis trick) and too loyal to the team to do that.

      But i think Alonso actually backed off a bit after not making his pass stick so he would not be running in dirty air. Impressive drive from Massa.

   0,22 in the same car is nothing? are you british, am i right?

   and massa had to go at full speed, cos of vettel.
   Alonso didn’t have to go 100% he had enough lead, maybe he had to push, to justify the “overtaking”

   this weeks story is by ferrari, that’s all
   two week ago everybody was talkin about the frong wings, before that, there was something else.

         LSL, Steph is looking at the graph, not just at the fastest lap. And if you do take a look at the graph, its impressing to realize that “Fernando” wasn’t really that much “faster than you” (to quote the infamous phrase)to justify such a controversial manouver by Ferrari. BTW, you are spanish, arent you?

      Also, let’s take a closer look at the table, shall we? Vettel-Webber: 0.85 gap. De La Rosa-Kobayashi: 0.57 gap. Rosberg-Schumacher: 0.47 gap. Ok, maybe 0.22 isn’t nothing, but is scarcely reason to justify such a scandalous decision by Ferrari

      I was looking at all the times and following live timing through the race not just the flap.

      I also pondered whether Fernando was in control so whether there would really have been more of a gap in all of the times.

      Andre you make a good point there too.

      Yes, I am British, I’m also 5 foot odd and a Ferrari fan and a girl…anything else you want to know? :)

         The fact that Alonso was able to keep within 1 second of Massa in dirty air and still go even faster than massa says a lot considering how much time dirty air makes you lose.

   LSL, you’re failing to consider any psychological effect caused by having to let your teammate pass. Nobody knows if Felipe was on top of his game after losing the lead, I wouldn’t be.

   André, you right, that’s about the only thing i haven’t considered

   what about quali, was massa asked then too?
   what about the first races of the year? when he was in front of alonso a few times cos of his luck, and he was clearly painfully slower than ALO (aus)

   they made the decision long before these laptimes, and the decision was based in the WDC points and massa’s performance earlier this year.

   how many times was he outqualified by alonso?
   and even if “just” 0,2 second faster, massa still holding him up.
   If you are 0,5 sec after the fisrt car, you don’t have the room to have better times then the first guy

   am i right?

      If Alonso is so much better than Massa, why didnt he pass Massa on merit?

      Nuff Said.

      Even if he was 2 seconds faster than Massa, Massa should have, as a driver every right to do everything in his power to keep Alonso behind.

      Ok Alonso is more likely to win, so Button should always yield to lewis, and Mark should yield to Vettel?

   Nice to see Pedro de la Rosa with his Sauber at number 6 in the fastest lap ranking, just behind the McLaren guys.
