Michael Schumacher

Failed to make the cut in Q2 again, leaving him 12th.

Schumacher briefly held seventh on the first lap before being passed by Sebastian Vettel. The other Red Bull of Mark Webber came by a few laps later.

After that he had an uneventful run to ninth.

Nico Rosberg

Mercedes talked down their chances ahead of Monza but showed strong figures in the speed traps and Rosberg qualified “best of the rest” in seventh.

He started well, holding fourth place in the opening stages and only lost one place – to Vettel – by the end of the race.

    1. The Stats continue to say it all. Way to go Nico

    2. Absolutely excellent to see him dominating schumacher. Banking on Mercedes to give him a good car for 2011 so he can show his true potential!

    3. Too bad Rosberg doesn’t have a good car. I have no doubts that he could have been a title contender this year.

    4. Lets hope the 2011 Mercedes car isn’t designed around Schumi’s driving style. Rosberg definitely has the skill, speed and consistency to beat Schumacher on a regular basis.

Mercedes must be glad they signed him for this season. If they had to count on Schumacher for points Mercedes, would probably finish behind Force India in the constructors.

      1. The car is clearly much better for Rosberg’s driving style at the moment. Apparently it is the polar opposite of what Schumacher prefers. It remains to be seen who would be faster in a car that suits both equally.

        1. Not really. The car doesn’t suit either driver much, however, all the initial changes and development work (extending the wheelbase, etc.) were all made to suit Schumi’s driving style. That is exactly why Schumacher could compete with Rosberg in the earlier part of the season. Latter part of the season, both the drivers have been unhappy with the car, however, Rosberg can still extract more pace than Schumi can.

    5. Nico Rosberg has surely been one of the top 6 or 7 drivers this year. With a lesser driver Mercedes would be having a lot of trouble keeping up with Renault in the WCC

    6. Agreed. I think it was Gerhard Berger who said that if Rosberg was driving a Red Bull this year he’d be doing better than Vettel…………..or something to that effect

    7. But next year´s car will be developed around Schumacher´s style although Ross Brawn said it would not.

Still Nico will be the better driver for the team, he has proved it over and over again

    8. I´m convinced that in case Schummi will be in front of Nico next season, all people will talk that car is suited for MS. In opposite, all will talk about superior Nico and looser and overrated MS.
I just wanna say that we have to know that all drivers in F1 are great drivers. Their results mostly depends on shape of the car. The differences between the “really great” and just “great” drivers comes out when they have a chance to perform in a good car. Schummi has allready proved his genius skill, Nico just have to wait for a chance to show his! Just be objective!

    9. good performance by Nico i have to say
