I suppose Button just knew he would not be passing Alonso anyhow, so just managed the gap in the last 5 laps, only getting a go at FLAP right at the end, only for Webber to beat him (and significantly Vettel) to it.
If they would not have had the long SC period, the gamble might have worked a bit better, not sure about his chances of getting in front of Alonso though.

I thought Klien didn’t race in Suzuka :)

So Button beat Vettel too then. Loved Mark going for the flap just for a bit of a head game probably. Very fun

Not surprising. All drivers who pitted late have very fast laps. Look at Algersuari up there too.

I know but here (in the UK) they kept on going on about Mark beating Seb to the flap which is sort of important but I missed that Jense beat him too

I think jenson got the lap time on the final lap, but it was not as fast as mark, so no flap was awarded.

Hmm fantastic pace by Jenson its a shame Lewis probably would have done the fastest lap but anything could Happen and who knows if im right the Prime tyre was the faster one this weekend on a green not rubbered much track.

nah, the opt was still at least 0.5 faster, Button could of gone quicker but no point.I doubt he would of been in the top 5 FLAPs if on the prime

You are correct, however if he couldn’t …. :-(

Slightly off topic but my Mclaren (even though my non-preferred team) screensaver has the background image from Singapore for the race in Korea.
Well I guess that at least it’s mentioned considering it was in some doubt for some time.

Where do you think they could get a race pic from a track thats not completed yet?
If only Jenson could show some pace when it actually mattered and get his car past on the track, it seems he just drives around waiting for the guy in front to drive off the road while saving his tyres.

Race chart shows that Hamilton was still faster than the new teams after losing 3rd gear.

I laughed so much when i saw Webber take Vettels fastest lap off him on the last lap.We are told that Vettel likes collecting fastest laps.
