Who’s going to come out on top in this weekend’s Korean Grand Prix?

Make your predictions below and you could win a Lotus F1 DVD boxset or a pair of F1 T-shirts this weekend.

The competition closes at the start of final practice on Saturday so make your prediction now!

The prizes

This year we’re giving away a pair of prizes every race weekend.

On top of that at the end of the year the top 12 finishers all get prizes – and whoever scores the highest overall will be going to the 2011 British Grand Prix. Here are the prizes in full:

Grand prize: Two grandstands tickets to the 2011 British Grand Prix

The person who scores the most points in the 2010 F1 Fanatic Predictions Championship will win grandstand tickets to the 2011 British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

This is the first time we’ve offered F1 race tickets as a prize at F1 Fanatic and I hope you all agree it’s a fitting reward for the F1 expert who can best predict who will be on top in 2010.

The grand prize winner will receive tickets to all three days of the 2011 British Grand Prix with reserved grandstand seating for the race.

Second place prize: An F1 painting of your choice

The second place finisher in the championship will win an F1 painting by Rob Ijbema.

You get to choose which F1 driver, present or past, will feature in the painting. Or you can pick one of the other motor racing paintings on Rob’s site Car-a-day.

Runners-up prizes: Autocourse 2010-2011

The ten players who finish in third to 12th positions in the championship will win a copy of the 2010-2011 edition of Autocourse.

The highly respected journal of Formula 1 and other major international four-wheeled racing series is published at the end of every season.

This year the publication marks its 60th anniversary edition.

Race winners prize: The Lotus Story DVD Box Set

Duke Video are supplying the prize for the player who gets the highest score in each round.

With the Lotus name returning to F1 in 2010 what better prize than a DVD box set showing the history of this great team. This four-disc set “The Lotus Story” chronicles Lotus’s participation in F1 from the company’s beginning in 1948 up to its F1 withdrawal in 1994. (Please note this DVD is in PAL format).

Duke are also offering a special promotion exclusive to all F1 Fanatic readers – whenever you order from them you can get 15% off using the promotional code F1Fanatic at the checkout.

Race runners-up prize: Two F1 T-shirts

The second place finisher in each race will win a race winner’s T-shirt and Official F1 Fanatic T-shirt from Unlap.

This prize is supplied by Unlap.

How to enter

Entries will open in the week before every race. You have until the start of free practice three on Saturday to make your predictions.

You can post your predictions for the first race now below or wait until nearer the deadline. A reminder will be posted on the site after free practice two on Friday.

Each player may predict the pole sitter, the pole position lap time and the top five finishers in the race. See below for the rules in full.

Enter your pole position lap time prediction in the following format: MM:SS.ccc – e.g. for a lap of one minute, 25.386 seconds enter 01:25.386

After submitting your prediction the page will refresh to show your prediction has been added. If this does not happen, or you are concerned your prediction has not been received, please get in touch using the contact form.

  1. A lot of different opinions on this circuit!!!

    1. Tough to predict on this circuit we may even have some surprises on the podium.

  2. Koera? You mean Korea? :P

    1. Go Koera… yay… how can one guess a qualifying lap time? has anyone hit it this season?

    2. koera koera there no place like koera lalalalalalal

  3. Oops, I missed out Kubica. Oh well.

    1. If you had Button and Webber the other way around that would be good for the championship ;-)

  4. Where can i find my entry for Korea instead of Koera.. nm
    for memorysake:
MacLeod 01:37.453 WEB HAM ALO WEB KUB VET

    1. That’s pretty similar to what I was thinking, Webber seems to be pushing hard this weekend.

  5. The laptime format requirements seem a bit silly: MM:SS.ccc

I can’t imagine a single situation where the laptime goes above 10 minutes. And even if it did, parsing M:SS.ccc should be absolutely no problem (in fact, there should be no reason to require a fixed amount of numbers for any field).

    1. I guess that’s just the way it works :)

    2. Don’t forget Sakon is driving this weekend…

      1. Sakon on pole? Excellent! But that would require an earthquake or similar after he sets the first time in Q1.

        1. He means he’ll do a lap above 10 mins.

          1. Yeah, but its the pole time so his point stands.

Didn’t you know? The Snaefel Mountain Course on the Isle of Man (60.7 kms) is on the calendar in 2012 . . .
“Taking in over 200 bends while climbing from sea level to an altitude of over 1,300 ft (396 m). This circuit is the epitome of the natural road course, all the roads used being ordinary public highways closed for the racing and practice sessions.”
      Wouldn’t that be fun?

  6. A Hamilton Victory and a Webber DNF…YES!

  7. I went for a silly result really:
    Button Kubica Rosberg Alonso Kobayashi
When I try to be reasonnable with my prediction I end up being wrong: this time I go crazy !
Let’s see on sunday: I predict a massive Hamilton/Webber/Vettel tangle at the end of maxi-straight and Button first by then. (That’s almost Sci-Fi !)

    1. This would be definitely a good race to watch.

  8. 90% of probabilty of a wet race !

  9. I think Alonso’s engine will let go this race.

  10. Fab idea Keith, you do a great job on this site; best F1 blog. Thanks :)

  11. webber to bag 0 this week…pressure!

  12. I predict Webber for win. IMO, 2010 has been too good a season so far. It is time for some reality check.

I reckon Webber will win, Alonso’s engine will fail, Vettel will be involved in some crash, and Kubica will slot in 2nd place thus further runing Mclaren drivers’ chances.

    1. Well if that happens Webber can have Brazil off to make the last round semi interesting but still win it.

  13. I’ve based my pole prediction on my best lap of the track in F1 2010 on the PS3.
After watching practice the track, in the game, seems quite accurate apart from a few grand stands and run offs that are grass and should be tarmac.

    looking forward to this one!!!!

  14. in the nik’a time

  15. the mother of all predicions. Kob hey hanalou. good luck.

  16. not a easy one to guess.
