Sebastien Buemi

Buemi hit two drivers within three laps after taking on intermediates on lap 19.

Contact with Heikki Kovalainen was more of a setback for the Lotus that the Toro Rosso.

But two laps later Buemi lost control of his car at turn three and took out Timo Glock. The stewards handed him a five-place grid penalty for the next race.

Jaime Alguersuari

Impressively out-qualified his team mate by three-quarters of a second. Unlike Buemi he didn’t make an early pit stop for intermediate tyres so he gained places off the Sauber drivers but fell back behind them later on.

Started the last lap in tenth place but couldn’t hold back the recovering Nico H???lkenberg who had much fresher tyres on.

Yes, Alguersuari fell behind, because of a messed pitstop by Toro Rosso crew again… The pneumatic gun wasn t working exactly as in Spain, where he also lost 3 places… This time it was many more… He was coming to the pits from 8th place, just ahead of Liuzzi… Alguersuari spend 15 seconds more in the pits then the most of drivers and returned back on track at 15th position… Liuzzi was eleventh at that time… Jaime could finished somewhere near Rubens in 7th or 8th place not having the delay in pit…:(
He was again much better then Buemi this weekend also beating him in qualifying for third time in a row and fifth time from last 7 qualifyings… The unluck is unbelievable…:(

In STR’s official site the team admits they botched Jaime’s stop once again. Really tough luck, although the one who seems to be cracking lately is Buemi…

who else reckons Alguersuari will replace Webber at RBR in 2012?!

It would be nice, because I think he has more potential then Buemi… He improved in terms of pace (in race and qualifying) and he is in age 20 years already a reliable driver, who has no problem to finish races… Only 4 drivers made more km in GPs this year…

If they both perform similarly I’d bet on Jaime over Buemi. Then again maybe we’ll see Ricciardo fast tracked straight to the big boy team and both STR boys given the cold shoulder.

It would be too risky to put Ricciardo straight into a Red Bull car with no F1 experience…

personally I’d pick Ricciardo over the STR drivers. He seems to always be in control of the situation, even if it was only in the second tier classes.

From what I hear as well, Web seems to be mentoring him and he is already a big part of the ‘Big Boy’ team.

Ricciardo will be nowhere near Vettel, especially in the first part of the season, like any other rookies compared to their teammates…

Sebastien Buemi was overambitious with his move on Glock.
