The Korean Grand Prix ended with one RB6 caked in mud and another in fire extinguisher foam. This couldn’t have been a more crushing result for Red Bull. Having annexed the front row of the grid for the eighth time this year they came away with nothing after a crash and a blown engine.

Fernando Alonso seized an 11 point championship lead over Mark Webber with his fifth win of 2010 in the Korean Grand Prix. He bounced back from a slow pit stop which cost him a place to Lewis Hamilton and stayed on top of tyre wear in the closing stages to score an impressive win.

Second place in Korea keeps Lewis Hamilton within range of the championship leaders heading into the last two races. But Jenson Button seems destined to lose his championship crown. He struggled for pace in the rain and slumped to a point-less 12th after spinning near the end of the race.

Michael Schumacher matched his best result of the year, passing Jenson Button on his way to fourth place in Korea. But it was a case of what might have been for team mate Nico Rosberg who was taken out of the race shortly after overtaking Lewis Hamilton.

Sixth place for Vitantonio Liuzzi equalled the best result of his F1 career. But team mate Adrian Sutil had a race to forget.
