    1. Lotus have reduced the gap from the leader from 5 secs last year to 2! Not bad.

    2. Any idea what were the best times in 2009? specifically the cars that did not run with the double diffuser then?

      1. https://www.racefans.net/2008/11/17/2009-f1-testing-begins-pictures/ look at the cars :) completely different so i wouldnt compare times…cant seem to find the link to the times anyway.

        2. Those are the 2008 cars so no wonder they’re completely different

          1. Is that kim jong il in your avatar lol?

        3. Wow, strange to see Ferrari used both test drivers… now they have three, none of them gets a taste of track.

    3. I do hope Mercedes aren’t sandbagging, won’t be able to put up with another year of failing. :(

      1. Ah there is that famous phrase!!! Heard it a lot last year, but you’re the first person I’ve seen use it this year…

        :)

        1. but he was probalby referring to Mercedes sandbagging the whole season in 2010 :-P

      2. I can confirm it to you that sandbagging is a myth. Don’t have hopes for anyone except Red Bull and maybe Ferrari to take a few wins.

MB has confirmed that Merc & Mc are in deep trouble.

      3. I do hope Mercedes aren’t sandbagging, won’t be able to put up with another year of failing. :(

What do you mean by saying “another year of failure”?

The team has been in existence for only a year & won the WCC the previous year.

If that be the case what should we sat about McLaren ,who’s been failing their stupid supporters for the past 13 years?

    4. the Williams live timing is awful IMO as it shows all the times from the weekend and not just from the day you’re on.

      1. They must of heard you, fixed now.

        1. They must of heard you, fixed now.

Congrats to Sato113 on getting that fixed for us, your a total gent!.

    5. Wow, Mclaren are slow on the long runs (what are they up too?)

At that pace I’d hope they have full tanks and some concrete blocks installed to slow the car down.

    6. No matter how carful Hamilton put it, reading between the lines, I think the McL has a serious issue in managing the tires. He’s the only one who explicitly stated that he’d like some additional testing time. I guess they all do, but nobody else put it so clearly.

      1. While we are talking about tyres, I really hope that the drivers will stop complaining about them. Pirelli brought tyres that wear quicker on purpose, it’s like these drivers only heard about this recently or something.

        1. We should be careful what we wish for, its conceivable that the tyre situation becomes a joke, which I think is what some drivers are concerned about.
Webber seemed to imply once they get to a certain stage you’ve had it, a car on fresher rubber will just breeze by, which will be an overtake but boring to watch and not what most want. I guess as the season gets closer people just begin to worry and get nervous about the changes.

    7. McLaren in a ******** according to Martin Brundle.

Drivers will bitch like crazy but I’m really liking what I’m seeing out on track. They are really having to drive the cars, loads of mistakes

“Mercedes has poor traction, McLaren looks shocking as if on cold tyres, Red Bull+Ferrari+Renault Lotus Lada+Williams all pounding round”

Brundle is correct most of the times & his observations are astute.

Time for some heads to roll at McLaren. They just can’t get away with this mediocrity all the time.

    8. Ok

      Let me rephrase it

McLaren in deep trouble according to Martin Brundle.

    9. Martin Brundle’s comments are really worrying. What with poor performance ( 3rd year running with possible excuse for 2009) and poor reliability it is time they either got back Ron Dennis (or equivalent), the Mc’s look hopeless. I cant believe LH wasnt ringing the neck out of the MP4-26. Sandbagging does not seem plausible. Mc will be relieved Bahrain was cancelled, no chance of a popular uprising in Oz is there ?
