    1. Is this just for me, or did this not appear in the RSS feed at all? Don’t want to miss this even a single week this year :D

    2. Is it still possible to view everyone else’s predictions?

      1. Yep, but only after the predictions get defenitive. Keeps you from shopping for ideas and it would be pretty complicated to show when it can change every minute.

    3. I’ve been bold. vettel crash out, and the mclaren’s on the top two steps of the podium. I can dream…

      1. It will be the McLaren’s that take each other out this time.

        1. Given that Webber has been nowhere really near Vettel on pace this season i’m inclined to agree!

          1. Like last race when Webber’s FLAP was 2 secs quicker then Vettel’s…

            1. When he was on newer tyres? ;)

          2. But wont the two RBs be close together after both McLarens pass Vettel off the line?

        2. certainly not mclaren 1-2 after fp3. rosberg for the win!

    4. So now we can wait till the beginning of the qualifying to make our predictions???????

        1. thanks

    5. Stay positive:

I think I will get maximum points this weekend!!!

      1. Stay Realistic:

Looks like my points total is going to be between 7 to 9 again

        1. LOL, guess I am in the same league as you there!

    6. I hope it stays dry during qually
otherwise my prediction will be totally way out of target

Jenson Button will win the Turkish Grand Prix. DNF for a Ferrari.

    8. Keith, why the change in the rules fp2 – fp3 ? I like it but what was the process leading to it?

      1. I always wanted it to be before the start of qualifying. But in order to maximise the potential entries I initially set the entry deadline as FP2 until the functionality to edit predictions after submitting them had been added. That’s been done and tested so the deadline has now been moved back.

        1. The previous rule was better, Keith.
Because everybody had a full friday afternoon and evening after the FP2, as well as the saturday morning before the FP3 to post their predictions on equal terms.

But now, we’ve got quite a narrow time slot between FP3 and the Quali on saturday.
And obviously, not everybody might have the chance of posting their prediction in that tiny little time frame on saturday, so they will be forced to do it before FP3 (typically friday), which will make it a bit unfair for many people.
One could argue that “Oh, it’s their problem!”. But I don’t know if that’s really the point of this game Keith.

And if the GP takes place on the eastern hemisphere (Australia, Malaysia, Singapour, Japan), with qualifying in the early morning ours for the majority of us, who are from Europe – this new rule will be even more divisive.
Not everybody will want to (or be able to) wake up early on saturday morning before sunrise to switch the computer on before the quali and post predictions with the knowledge of the FP3 results. Some will and have the advantage, some will not. And some will try, but fail to do it on time.

          1. he doesnt mean the only time we can predict is between FP3 and Q1, he means that we can now vote up till the start of qualy!

            1. I think that Damon is saying that he’ll want to wait until after Q3 to make his predictions every time and if he can’t then that’s unfair for him. Taking the game a tad seriously maybe.

            2. I know that.
But obviously the predictions after the FP3 will be a lot better informed.

            3. @Damon-It’s only a small internet predictions game, it doesn’t really matter does it?

            4. I think giving time until after FP3 is great. How many times have we been on the live blog for FP3 discussing predictions, only to remember we forgot to put them in before the session?

The changing is great, I just get a banker in during the week, update it on Friday and then can change if I feel the need on Saturday.
With the early season fly aways its good as well, as there is a lot more people getting up before Qualli than actually watching FP3, giving you the chance to put in a prediction if you have not already managed on friday evening.

          2. We’re only talking about extending the window by three hours. I don’t think it’s going to cause that much of a problem.

            1. I think it should have stayed Fp2 for consistency purposes for this year.

I actually wasn’t aware of the changes to this either, so its put some people at a disadvantage (albeit minor).

I also think it’ll make it more predictable having Fp3 the markers rather than Fp2 as we all know Fp3 is for the short qualy runs.

Having said that all, it also probably won’t make a massive amount of difference!

The main issue for me is that FP3 is usually when I’m asleep, at least for all the European timed races! So I won’t be able to use any FP3 data for my predictions this year. When the deadline was post-FP2 I had 21 hours to make a pick using the same data as the rest of the world.

I hereby claim this as my excuse for not doing well in 2011. [Even if I picked the pole sitter and nearly got his time right this week].

    9. So, to be sure I just put a prediction in. Now I only have to remeber to change it before qualifying.

What makes it extra difficult, is what we’ve seen last race, where the race tactics started in qualifying. So, I just hope that I’ve taken that well enough into account.

    10. Hi Heith,
I made a prediction, and then realized i have done it wrong, and changed it. On my email inbox, it gives my old prediction, but on here, it gives my new one. What should i believe?

      1. *Keith, my computer is wrecked

      2. You only get sent a confirmation email the first time so the version you see on the site is up-to-date.

    11. Looking forward to getting my predictions in tomorrow morning!

I didn’t mind having to make the predictions before FP3, it was quite fun. However i’m glad I have up to qualifying given the weather thus far.

P3 in China had just started when I tried to post my prediction.

    13. i have a feeling my race wknd predictions will backfire without fail. the last race in china had me in for max points until the last 13-10 laps.

    14. Oh no, I didn’t realise that we could now wait until end of Q3………….oh well, the race order always ends up being different to who you think will be quickest anyway.

      1. I didn’t realise that we could now wait until end of Q3

You can’t – the deadline closes at the start of qualifying, not the end. Otherwise predicting the pole sitter would be pretty easy…

If you’ve already made your prediction you can still edit it before qualifying begins.

    15. Yay the time has finally been extended beyond FP3, thank you Keith :-) also that crash of Vettel’s yesterday, like the race last year, was his first of the season :L

    16. I’m smelling a podium for Rosberg and a (hopefully not-severe) NC for Hamilton.

    17. I really like the possibility to change the predictions now!

For me, the delaying of the deadline for the predictions is ok. It’s the same rule for everyone, so there won’t be any difference I guess…

    18. thanks for the change Keith, just changed my prediction, received corrected email, you’ve been busy. Noticed time on email is GMT is that correct?
