The new pit building looks 1st class HOWEVER I see that instead of building new grandstands opposite the new pit building the old stands from the old pit straight have simply been dragged round. These stands are basically glorified scaffolding, complete with poles obstructing spectator view which I believe have been in use at Silverstone since the 1960′s. Obviously these seats will greedily be sold for the maximum price possible. As much as I think Silverstone is a great track to drive I would much rather attend races abroad where fans are not treated with the same contempt.
Yes all this hype is great for the competitors (and our international kudos) but affects the spectator enthusiast little, unless you have thousands to spend on tickets that is.
I paid in the hundreds of pounds for an open stand 3 years ago and spent hours upon hours in the pouring rain. When is that state of affairs going to be addressed!
