    1. Again!! Alonso compromised or was compromised sector 3 time twice…I don’t know how clean side has benefit.

      1. how much I mean

      2. This is very very annoying .. Alonsos tyres seemingly died throughout the lap which is weird and I begin to get annoyed with F1 in general. And where is the summer this year?

        1. global warming? :P

    2. Lewis surely will win this one. His race pace will be much better, and maybe Alonso will get up there also.

      1. If he can keep up with Vettel into S1 he will have a chance, otherwise the RB7 will just pull away in the twisty corners.

    3. I’m sick and tired of seeing drivers staying in the pits for Q3 simply so they can save their tyres. If you’re in Q3, you should have to set a time or else take a penalty. Maybe any driver who stays in the pits should have his grid place given to the next-fastest car in Q2 (in the case of Sergio Perez, Paul di Resta would be bumped up). Or maybe the driver should start the race on the tyres he used to set his fastest time in Q2.

But it’s not really a problem here – I expect the stewards will have something to say about Perez blocking Vitaly Petrov at the end of Q2.

      1. Forcing all teams to set a time in Q3 would disadvantage the smaller teams ho managed to sneak in. Let the teams do what they want without any contrived systems of penalties.

      2. “If you’re in Q3, you should have to set a time or else take a penalty.”
        – Why? What for?
To hinder other drivers by going out for a 2 minute lap saving tyres?

I don’t care for watching the 9th or 10th placed driver to do a lazy lap, when it’s obvious it won’t change anything for anybody.

      3. What I’d like to see is the distribution of a set of qualifying only tires. That would put and end to it. Unlikely to happen, though.

      4. What if something goes wrong in your car?

I agree they shouldn’t save tyres. Maybe that’s why Pirelli’s thinking about bringing back the Qualy tyres.

      5. Why not give drivers unlimited new tyres to set a time in Q3,so they are all out like mad lapping for the whole session. Make the race day rule that they can start on whatever they want, rather than having to start on the tyres they used for quali, which is a silly rule IMO.

      6. Absolutely disagree. It’s not simply resting on your laurels, it’s a strategic element which can pay off massively if used correctly. Just like any other strategy.

    4. @Eggry: Agree, and first time was for Webber. Gr8 laps from Vettel and Button though. Also Massa and Sutil.

    5. I am for Vettel from Button and Alonso. Guys starting on the cleaner sides have miles of benefit. Remember 2003? 1,3,5,and 7th became 1,2,3,4 by T1

      1. that is before hamilton came into the picture

    6. Not the result that i was expecting. . . :'(

      1. What were you expecting? This result is pretty consistent with what we’ve been seeing all season … I’m surprised you expected something else.

        1. Hahaha. . . I was expecting good result for Alonso, as in Q1 and Q2. But the result says no. :D

          1. I wonder if he made a mistake in the final sector, because he was setting a very quick lap but lost half a second in the final sector.

            1. Well, maybe. I don’t have any details of that. Thanks.

      2. either I

    7. Man i wish Massa didn’t make that mistake at that last sector :( would have been a great “feel good” moment :)

    8. Button closer than usually to HAM, Massa in front of ALO, BAR in front of MAL… surprises !

I hope the hungaroring will give us a nice entertaining race tomorrow. For some reason i like that circuit a lot !

Kobayashi will prove them all that one can overtake here as well !

It’s been a while since we’ve heard Vettel’s “That’s what I’m talking about!”. RBR needed to dig deep to best Lewis’s regained strength.

    10. Bet anyone 25 euros kobayashi gets ahead of perez

    11. with webber starting on the dirty side of the grid, with his apparent lack of ability to get it off the line, it’s likely he will get caught up in traffic. This could lead to a very aggressive undercut, and really interfere with the battle at the front. I think this could take the race towards 4 stops, which may well give Lewis an advantage with his extra set of brand new options.

      1. That’s a good insight. Webber, the caboose on the lead pack, will be driving the start of the undercuts-cascade. RBR will need to consider how to use this to Vettel’s advantage. But I think forcing a very early stop for all the front runners could force McLarens to come in very early to cover the Ferraris which would prevent Hamilton from jumping Vettel at the first or second stops. I expect that on heavy fuel, we will see Vettel run off, then the McLarens will begin to run him down at the end of the stint. But they will need a proper stint to do it.

      Viva la Vettel!!

    13. If Massa can have an Alonso-Spain-style start, everyone at Ferrari will do his race and not Alonso’s.

    14. Phew…2 points for me then! Vettel will be hoping for 23 on top of that.

Great to see Massa up in front of Alonso, that should be a fantastic inter-team battle.

Well done to the Mercedes boys and Perez. Seems to be an ongoing trend that Sergio has the 1 lap advantage over Kamui.
