  1. Truly. Dreadful.

2/20. Lowest score so far :D

I’m terrible with F1 history but not bad with anything 2009 onwards.

    1. I’ve been watching the sport for 20 years, I’m terrible too though! I just can’t remember any more, everything blends together! hehe.

On a side note, I’m off to visit your home town this weekend. I believe my girlfriend went to the same school as you. Random, considering I grew up in London and met her on the Isle of Wight.

      1. Wow, so she went to Parkside school yea? Small world! What’s her name? Might know her.

  2. Darn! 18. Not bad for a rookie attempt at a driver quiz though. Keith, is it possible to see what we got right/wrong?

    1. Not at the moment.

      1. I take it then our answers are now in part ferme? :P

  3. I got 12 :(

As someone who is a little bit obsessed with my boy JB, i find this frankly pathetic! Oh well.

  4. A sign of how poor I’ve been doing that 11 feels like I won.

  5. 5. Groan.

  6. 6 again…consistency is key in this sport :p

  7. 7 and it’s my best quizz yet. I Should probably relocate at F1mildlyknowledgeable.co.uk

  8. 5/20. Oh dear. I’m really not as good at these quizzes as I should be.

My problem is I can’t actually remember anything that happened before around 2005 which isn’t very good when all these quizzes are about drivers with long careers.

  9. Damn, I didn’t realise that if you don’t complete it you automatically get 0, even though many of the answers I had done were right because when I retook it I got 15! Need to work on speed next time.

    1. Sorry to hear that – I might have to make the warnings a bit clearer.

      1. Ah no problem, I should have looked properly first :) Cheers for the reply!

    2. I’m not sure about that. I didn’t finish the first time, but I finished the second time and it counted my score.

    3. I ran out of time twice and it has recorded two zero scores against my name, but not the third attempt where I managed to finish it in the time. I’ve done two of the other quizzes (2010 season and Senna) and the software ignored the attempts where I ran out of time and just recorded the score when I completed them within the time limit. I’m a bit confused about what is supposed to happen. In the instructions it says

All quizzes are run to a time limit.

When you begin a quiz, you will see a clock counting down at the top of the quiz.

You must submit your answers before the clock reaches zero or your score won’t be counted.

Not that you will get a score of 0 if you aren’t in the time limit.

      1. If you run out of time you score zero. Obviously if you could just keep on re-taking the quiz and improving your score there wouldn’t be any point in having a time limit.

We have been improving and upgrading the code since it was introduced on the site, including a glitch which allowed some users to re-take quizzes having failed the time limit.

        1. Thanks for clarifying Keith. I did think that was a bit of a glitch in the system! Could you make that rule a little clearer in the instructions please?

  10. Noo! Due to the slow connection I started the wuiz when 2 minutes had already passed, and at my third try I finished it, with 12/20, but my counted score is 0! :(

  11. Timed out! Terrible, would have scored at least two points if I’d completed it.
Didn’t realise there were only two minutes available.

    1. There are five minutes available.

    2. It should be five – did you only get two?

      1. Interesting, I think there may be a glitch in the clock/timer.
I just went back to the quiz and got a display of 8 seconds that immediately went blank. I came out of the page and went back in and got five minutes but only the top part of the figures was showing. Third time, I got no seconds at all! The clock display was blank.
I’m using a completely vanilla IE8 browser but I do have a hefty firewall, so I wonder if that might be part of the problem.

  12. Before I posted on this, there were 17 comments. I got 17 out of 20. I am ranked 17th.

  13. Laptop ran out off battery and ran out of time so zero. plugged it in and got 19 but first results count

  14. “Must be logged in to view this Quiz” Damn, the login never works for me, have tried resetting password but I never receive an email. I try re-registering and my email is already in use.

    1. Apologies, been a few months since I tried the lost password thing, tried again and have now received the email.

  15. Damn IE8, I can’t play it

  16. Strangely, I think in previous quizzes when I timed out, that attempt didn’t count, and I got the score when I retook the quiz and finished in time. Has this been changed? If so, I recommend that when the timer reaches zero, you get the score from the completed questions. This time, I timed out just before the final question, which I skipped anyway because I didn’t know the answer.

A second remark is that 5 minutes is very short for me. I really ought to skip, or quickly (randomly?) guess the answers to questions I do not immediately know. Instead, I like to give some of the questions a little bit of thought; this trip down memory lane being part of the fun of the quiz for me.

Finally, to Jenson Button. Much of his career overlapped with a period of my life in which I only followed the races with a casual interest, and even if Jenson was always a noteworthy driver, his pre-2009 exploits are not imprinted in my brain. A score of 7 out 10 on my second attempt was therefore not too terrible, especially compared to my disappointing score of 10 for the 2010 quiz, when I did follow pretty much every session of the (pre-)season.

  17. Recorded as zero, but I knew 2! Doh!
