    1. Webber, Webber….you shouldn’t be there!

      1. Has he passed his peak? He must feel so frustrated this year!?

      2. In the Red Bull?

        1. @Steph I think Eggry means Webber shouldn’t be in 4th. He should be second!

          1. I know @ivz I was just kidding but clearly it wasn’t any good! :P

    2. 6 Force India 51
      7 Sauber 41
      8 Toro Rosso 41

probably the most interesting battle for the remaining races. Alguersuari is on fire too!

      1. I think Force India has 6th place somewhat secured, but Sauber will surely be demoted: they’ve scored just a few points in the latter half of the season, while STR have scored big three times. But then again, it requires just one lucky race for one of these three teams to make big gains.

McLaren securing second place shows just how much Ferrari is neglecting Massa this year.

        1. Yeah, but I’d love to see Sutil passing Petrov in the standings. Shame for Sauber, I can’t see them doing better in the last 2 races. As for STR – I think Jaime’s seat is safe now, not so sure about Buemi’s.
I can’t see how Massa constantly crashing with Hamilton means that Ferrari is neglecting him. On Friday he was perfectly happy with his car, he even topped FP2. He’s the one responsible for ruining things for himself – almost every race weekend he does mistakes, this has nothing to do with the decisions from the pit-wall (anymore).

        2. Uhm, if STR pulls out 2 Korea-like results, then it’ll be interesting!

Funny tho, STR has 2 points less than what they scored in 2008, with a different point system :P!

    3. Hope Alonso can hold on to 3rd.

      1. Hamilton is in the same battle as well, despite 38 points behind Button. It seems like Jenson will beat him this year, but the battle for second place is still open!

    4. Button 38 points up on Hamilton now so if nothing unusual happens he should have that secured.

Schumacher on a good run in the second half of the season, would be a great boost for Merc if one of them could catch Massa but its unlikely.

      1. Indeed. Hamilton needs to score 19 more points than Button in each of the next two races just to catch him. I don’t think that’s going to happen short of Hamilton winning a race while Button fails to score.

    5. Surely Alguersuari has his sights on a top 10 finish? More than achievable.

Schumacher has nicked a couple of points off Rosberg, the gap is now down to 5.

Even if Button has a DNF before the end of the season, he will have at least a 13 point lead over Hamilton. Back to the status quo?

    6. Nick Heidfeld got sacked races ago but he’s still 10th on points. Hmm.

      1. And Renualt gets nowhere in the development race since then. Was probably the wrong decision to bring in Senna.

        1. I think its rather the development race at Renault not going anywhere was the reason why Renault decided to ditch him and give Senna a chance.

They have more or less steadily fallen back into the midfield and down to the lower part of that since the first few races.

          1. I rather think it was the pockets and Sponsorships of Senna which were the deciding factor.. Sorry, but cant see Senna being a better racer then Heidfeld.. especially with the number of rookie mistakes he’s made so far..

      2. Yeah, Petrov just two points ahead, although he has done almost ten races more. Sad.

        1. He’s done 6 races more. And he’s only scored 4 point since Heidfeld was replaced.

        2. @KaIIe Renault’s got worse since the start of the season, when they scored most points. Heidfeld scored two points more than Petrov in the races they were teammtes.

    7. So basically a lot of points of interest remains:

      1) Can Vettel get two more hat-tricks? I know, I know that’s the least interesting and likely of them…

      2) Who will emerge as the winner of the overall silver prize? I bet on Button, but hope for Alonso & a miracle. Both of them are very very strong as drivers, but the car could decide in Button’s favour.

      3) Who will have the upper hand inside Mercedes at the end of the year? What Rosberg gains with that constant 0.01-0.3 sec advantage on one lap pace, he keeps losing over race distance. I can’t decide, I’d like it to be Schumacher.

      4) Who will win the battle of the midfield teams? On pace Renault is lost, but they have the points advantage. Toro Rosso is on fire ATM, and Force India has to up their game to stay 6th. Sauber is lost too I think, and they don’t have points advantage; all this despite Pérez’s decent performances of late.

+1) Can any of the losing drivers of the three big teams (Hamilton, Massa, Webber) turn the tides during the last two races? I think Hamilton clearly has the biggest chance, he just have to get himself together, I can see probably Massa qualifying ahead of Alonso once, and I cannot see any possibility of Webber beating Vettel at all…

    8. Oh dear, Massa looks so bleak. Over 100 points down and not yet even in the triple digits. He’s a really likeable guys, but sorry, I think it’s time to give a new guy a shot in the Ferrari.

      1. Down on the battle for second I mean ;)

      2. I think Ferrari will likely keep Massa for another year and then pick a young driver who has had some experience. Perez has links with Ferrari after all.

    9. I have a request for the next two races. Mr. TV Director, can you please concentrate on the Toro Rosso-Sauber fight, Webber vs. Alonso, and all the other battles with the lower-order teams? The championship is a write-off; that much we know. Vettel is obliterating everyone and everything at every opportunity. Button has second place in all but name, and Hamilton is pretty much out of it. So let’s end the year with a bang, and concentrate on real fights for positions. One we see the replays of the start, I don’t want to see Sebastian Vettel until the end of the race. Nobody on the track gets to …

      1. agree, there were so many occasions when people were in the DRS zone of the car in front that weren’t shown.

      2. I couldn’t help but feel that there was more interesting action happening else where on the track at the Japanese and Indian GP’s. It’s a shame really, as I don’t want like feeling like I’ve missed out after watching a race!

      3. Couldn’t agree more PM

      4. You forgot Massa vs Hamilton!! :)

        1. I agree with @sumedh; we need to just concentrate on Massa vs Hamilton!

      5. I support this request vehemently!

      6. Which season were you watching? On most of the races Vettel was not even shown 95% of the Race since he was driving lonely laps at the front.. hes just too good.. Webber on the other hand was shown a lot since he was in the scrap for leftovers.. Your request makes sense but i don’t see how it wasn’t fulfilled so far this season?

    10. Jeson Button has been a revelation over the last 2 years. He took his title in ’09 rather convincingly, but everyone was saying his car was better and hence the result. This year, having outdone Hamilton, in Hamilton’s team (let us not be disingenuous) in an equal car, Button has left little doubt that he is currently one of the best racers on the track. I’m certainly not going to rate Schumacher, none of us can… However, of the younger lot, Alonso seemingly is still there in top 3, Vettel for obvious reasons, and last but certainly not the least, is Button. Bring on 2012 :)

    11. Two races to go,the battle of the Mercedes drivers are still on.
