Only if you have tiny screen. None of these pics are large enough for the current standard (Full HD / 1920×1080).

I’m surprised you didn’t prioritise Andrea Moda or Life… ;)

Why wasn’t the MP4/18 never raced? I started following from 2007 onwards so don’t really know.
Fer no.65 (@fer-no65)
10th May 2012, 21:20
@mahavirshah It failed a couple of crash tests and wasn’t competitive enough. The MP4/17D was doing very well that year fighting for the championship and the MP4/18 was “too radical” and “too difficult”, so it never got to race…

@fer-no65 Ahh ! Thanks so much. It must the be the only modern generation car to not race I guess, with the Lola being prior to that. However, now that I think would the Toyota that Stefan planned to use and Pirelli used later count as well?
Fer no.65 (@fer-no65)
11th May 2012, 13:35
@mahavirshah guess so! The Lola didn’t race but at least they put it on track during a GP weekend.
Though the Toyota Stefan planned to use isn’t the one Pirelli used. Pirelli used the TF109 from 2009. Stefan planned to use the TF110 developed for the 2010 season by Toyota.

There is this McLaren car, the MP4-20, from the 2005 season… I noticed there isn’t any gallery with pictures of it. Where could I get some with decent quality?

This is fantastic. I also love the fact that most pictures in your articles can be clicked on and enlarged. Some old F1 cars are really works of art and being able to view these images is worth the daily site visit on its own.

@keithcollantine Why do teams remove the tobacco sponsor logos off of cars. I was looking at the Williams FW16 pictures of Damon Hill’s car at Goodwood, and the Rothmans logos are gone. Same with the Camel logos on the WDC winners for 1992 and 1993.
Keith Collantine (@keithcollantine)
11th May 2012, 20:53
@seijakessen To take McLaren as an example, they have their cars on display in their factory. As they often have school parties and such visiting they don’t consider it appropriate to retain the cigarette and alcohol branding on their cars. How times change, eh?
There’s other considerations as well – in some regions, for example, media can’t print pictures of cars with tobacco branding.
DK (@seijakessen)
11th May 2012, 21:14
@keithcollantine That’s depressing…but definitely a sign of the times.
I guess for better, or for worse, I identify so many of the cars of the past with whomever the tobacco sponsor was for the team at the time. In the case of McLaren and Lotus, it’s impossible for me to think of those cars without the Marlboro and the John Player Special logos .
Here in the US when they were advertising for the IndyCar Grand Prix of Long Beach, the commercial on TV showed clips of the Marlboro branded cars…my jaw dropped slightly because I never expected to see those liveries on a TV commerical.
