1970s F1 cars at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed
2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed
A collection of distinctive F1 racers of the 1970s are on display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
They include the Wolf WR1, which made history by winning on its debut in 1977, a trio of flat-12 engined Ferraris, and a Brabham BT42 in its striking Martini livery.
See below for pictures of the cars. You can find more images of the Lotuses and the Renault RS01 via the links below:

The 70s seems to have been an era of odd-looking cars, as teams were getting to grips with aerodynamics. I don’t think the majority of the cars pictured above can be called beautiful, but they are certainly very striking, and interesting cars.

yeah and just look at the advertising those beautiful fonts, especially by the side of the Ferraris “Gilles Villeneave” “Niki Lauda” “Jody Scheckter”

Ah the 70′s, so much variety and innovation, pity we can’t have that now due to the prohibitive cost, off course there was so much money available in the seventies that Britons only needed to work 3 days a week.

Golden era, simply magical.

Was the Wolf designed in partnership with Frank Williams?
