Paul di Resta will lose five places on the grid for the Italian Grand Prix.

The Force India driver changed his gearbox for this race but his previous unit has not completed the five previous events.

Di Resta is the second driver to receive grid penalties for this race – Pastor Maldonado already has two from infractions during the Belgian Grand Prix.

  1. I’d love to see a feature on gearbox penalties vs. every other kind of penalty at the end of the year. It must account for at least half now?

    1. I believe there have been fifteen gearbox penatlies issued so far this season.

    2. @andrewtanner – definately if Pastor Maldonado is excluded from the stats!

  2. Shame given Force India’s pace. Still, points aren’t out of the question so long as he can put in a good grid position before the penalty is applied.

Also off-topic, but that picture really does remind me of how ugly the stepped noses are. Looks like the car has melted in the Monza sun.

  3. I was wondering who’d get the penalty this time. :P
