Predictions Championship gets close after Korea

Predictions Championship

Adrian Newey, Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Korea International Circuit, 2012The battle for the lead of the Predictions Championship has closed up following some high scores in the Korean Grand Prix round.

@Slowhand led the way with a near-perfect score of 48, missing only the two points for pole sitter, but claiming a 1975 Autocourse eBook as a prize and moving up to fifth in the championship.

Second place and a Grand Prix Heroes DVD from Duke Video went to @GST via the pole position time tie-breaker. @Anakincarlos claimed third and an F1 poster from PJ Tierney.

The result means @Zantex’s lead in the championship has been almost halved to seven points. @Anakincarlos moves up to second ahead of @Chelseano161997, who came close to winning a prize for the second race in a row.

Over 84% of players picked Sebastian Vettel to claim to pole position. There were only 20 players who correctly named Mark Webber as this weekend’s pole sitter.

However Vettel delivered on Sunday for the two-thirds of players who expected him to win the race.

First time I see myself amongst the top scorers! Thanks to a predictable race I suppose :D

I was counting on strong race pace for McLaren, but that didn’t feature for a variety of reasons. At least I got Vettel in P1 right…

  3. Wow.. 7th with a prediction from the early hours of a morning… not bad :P
First time I see myself in the top scorers as well, awesome!
I also think I just earned more points there than in the rest of the season…

I think I should start focussing on next year’s prediction championship…

Also, quick note to everyone, there’s very little posters left, and once they’re gone that’s it for 2012.

Wow I can’t believe I’ve moved up to 3rd that is insane! I guess I found my form towards the end of the season a bit like Red Bull!

I could have been second overall – if only I didn’t change my mind at last second and put Raikonnen instead of Perez at fifth…

What a crazy season – if I’m not mistaken there was only one perfect score so far and that was in first race.

  8. ZanteX (@zantex) said on 16th October 2012, 15:07

Wow, congrats to the massive point winners. I’ve failed on the mclarens this time. As for what it feels like being in the lead, it’s a bit like Alonso, trying to cover the nearest competitor, but with 30 more competitors with a chance of jumping into contention after every race. It will be tense.

Unreal – I finally gave up on McLaren and I get my best score ever !! A sign of things to come ?
