Wow, have to say Keith the prize quality has really shot up over the years, nice to see Pirelli and Codemasters supporting this competition.

    1. @jarred-walmsley Thanks very much!

    2. Shame that there’s not an F1 Fanatic mug still up for prizes… they’re really cool! Plus, they hold a substantial cup of tea.

I guess I’ll just have to buy a 2nd one for home at some point.

  2. I fear 7 points is a sign of things to come for me.

    Football, F1 — it’s good I don’t gamble!

  3. 10 points… Nice solid start. I’m going for the Raikkonen consistency approach I think.

  4. 9 points, not too great but not too bad I suppose

+1, we share the 248th position, but with just a change of wind we can go really high in the chart

  5. the pratiks are having a great time. From @pratik007 to @prateek727

    1. Wow. I’ve traditionally fared quite terribly at this, so I’m going to go ahead and hope that this is my personal BrawnGP moment :)

  6. Joint 1027th, good start in my first championship.

    1. Ditto! 5 big points for me too. Damn Red Bulls!

  7. It’s always eluded me how to search for my score without having to scroll through every name, is there a shortcut way?

    1. No there isn’t, I hope every year but no improvent yet.

      1. @vettel1 @brawngp If this a feature you want then by all means suggest it:

        F1 Fanatic site development

        1. Well, all you have to do is press Ctrl+F and type your nickname.. Takes 2 seconds! ;)

Yes, in your browser hit Ctrl F (Cmd F for mac) and type your username, the browser searches the text and will jump to your name.

      1. @jarred-walmsley – thanks man, I’ve spent many many minutes searching before!

      2. For the iPhone just use the search box, it gives Google suggestions but also (in grey) for ‘results on this page’ – my translation, I just googled it in dutch.

        1. Any idea for android phones?

          1. menu… find on page…

      3. I’m surprised by how many people didn’t know this.

        1. Yeah, me too! And as for “Android phones”, it really depends on your browser as to get to ‘find on page’. For example, the stock HTC browser vs. Dolphin Browser.

    3. Now I don’t know if I’m just being an idiot, but I still can’t seem to find my name. :/ I distinctly remember submitting my prediction as well and I had Vettel on pole and Vettel, Alonso and Räikkönen in the top 5 (albeit all in the wrong order!).

  8. The link to gp international seems to be not working

    1. @alfa145 Looks like a problem with their website at the moment rather than the link itself.

  9. 7 points is a little less than I thought. Kind of a shame, as I had the top 3 right, but in the wrong order. Raikkonen came first instead of my predicted second, Alonso came second, instead of my predicted third, and Vettel came third instead of my predicted first.

…So I blame Vettel for my poor score!

    1. me too! I predicted better but I changed my mind when Red Bull crushed the grid on FP2. shame on me… there is 18 more races, though. finger crossed!

    2. i had the same top three order as you. initially i had a 1:23.3 as pole position but changed it to 1:37.4 before quail.

    3. Same here. The only thing I got right was Alonso in 2nd.

  10. joint 560th XD i guess it could have been worse lol

    1. @scuderia29 You’re well inside the top half!

  11. I’m tied for 248th!

    Suck on it, 249th!!! Haha

  12. 9 points!? Woohoo! of course the fact this makes me happy is only a reflection of how terribly I’ve done in past years.

  13. 13 points, and #60 over more than 1500 players..not bad for my first prediction…i’ll try to be more accurate in Malaysia

    my prediction was: 1Alonso 2Raikkonen 3Vettel 4Massa 5Rosberg, Pole Vettel
My read of the friday practice was good…i just didn’t predict that Massa will act like a block for Alonso and Rosberg will hit mechanical problems.

    1. @keithcollantine
Can you please point me a link to how the points are distributed ?
for example the fact that i have the top 3:
      1 Alonso 2 Raikkonen 3 Vettel and i have x point…. someone else that have the top 3 :
      1 Maldonado 2 Vergne 3 Vettel…get x point as my top 3

    2. i just find it in “Competition terms and conditions”

  14. @keithcollantine

I can see some possible downsides to being able to see everyone’s predictions when submitting your own predictions. Perhaps not so much in the beginning of the championship, but for example, towards the end, like the last race, if say, 2 people have a chance of winning the main prize and are separated by just a few points. The one who’s ahead, could just look at what the other one has chosen and choose the same result, and in that way making sure that they’ll get the same amount of points and maintain the lead.

    1. OmarR-Pepper (@)
      20th March 2013, 1:11

Yes, but there are ways to use the tie breaker.

PD: I’m not Keith of course :P

I only “spy” the rest of people for the pole time. I see what’s the average and then create my own pole time

  15. 248th out of 1500 for me… not a bad start. i had the top correct top 3 but in the wrong order.

    1. Ha, same. 248 for me too. 9 points in total scored.

  16. Bloody hell, I correctly predicted the pole sitter and the five drivers in the top five, but I got all five drivers in the wrong positions! I only got 10 points in the end.

    1. hahaha unlucky.

    2. same here

    3. Well I am in the same situation, atleast I got Raikkonen right. But then had switched up pairs, Vet-Alo and Ham-Mas. So just two bloody switches from accolades.

  17. Alright! Joint 1454! That’ll teach me for backing grojean to win!

  18. MB (@muralibhats)
    20th March 2013, 0:57

#57.. I thought i will be way down

  19. Interestingly, nobody scored zero. The famous @BasCB is listed (joint) last, on one point. Shocking!

    1. What can I say, predictions are not my forté? In part it was putting Rosberg on pole expecting them to finish quali on Saturday. And because I had no clue about form, I had Grosjean, Hulkenberg (another one we could have hardly guessed, eh) and Kimi on the podium, followed by Perez and Massa. Massa nearly made it :-)

      1. @bascb i was surprised to c u last.

        1. slow start, just a slow start :-)

  20. I think this is the first time I scored in double digits. I think I just might quit while I’m looking good.

  21. First time in top 10 for me…. in 2 years! Just hoping to keep this momentum going… :)

  22. @prateek727 my 2011 predictions prize motivated @pratik007 to join. He won the Racecar Engineering magazine in 2012. So two consecutive years our unknown city has had winners.

    1. Good job there @prateek727! and thanks @malleshmagdum for enriching the competition with both of you :-)

  23. Hi Keith,

I am relatively new to the site. Let me know where we can see that How many points I scored in the predictions

    Thanks

    1. @mohnet Welcome to F1 Fanatic!

The link to the full points standings is under the fifth paragraph which says:

If you’re not among the top scorers for this round you can find the updated points standings in full here:

  24. What a start, 5 points. I thought Red Bull was going to be better.

  25. Congrats to everyone who believe they deserve it.

  26. 12 points for me. I named the top 5 drivers but only got Alonso in the correct order. Got Vettel for pole too. I fear this will be my best weekend of the year

    1. Same here, while it’s a shame I didn’t put more drivers correctly, but scoring like this more regularly would be nice.

  27. Fernando Alonso also did very well. He looked motivated and happy to have seen the first good responses to the GP confirmed on the track. So now, it’s feet back on the ground because there’s still a lot of work to do.
