  1. I have been an F1 fan for over 20 years, and many of my family are too. Whilst I want to watch as many Grand Prix as I can, I would support any F1 team if they boycotted future Bahrain GPs to encourage the Bahrain Government to take a more lenient approach to human rights. I have written to several F1 teams about this and encourage other fans to do so as well. If we don’t then the sport will become less and less like a sport and even more like a soulless business. I love F1, but not at any price.

    1. The unicef reports 16000 kids die of famine each day worldwide. And this will put your soul at rest? Wow, guess you really are a die-hard F-1 fan!

      1. I never said it would put my soul at rest, merely suggested other fans to comment on the human rights issues on Bahrain. You seem to forget that people died last year protesting against the GP. I find your comments somewhat flippant and unhelpful, and ask you to reconsider your views!

        1. Not going to reconsider anything.

It’s disheartening you present such a case, where you did imply your soul would rest when saying you would support any F1 team if they would boycott the Bahrain race. And it’s even more disheartening that you strongly tackle the issues in Bahrain on a F1 site because people there died last week, yet Unicef.com reports every day another 16000 kids died of famine worldwide, which is a far more greater tragedy in Bahrain. I’m not here to help you, I’m here to debute, to argue, to enjoy, to read about F1 with fellow F1 fans.

If people boycott the Bahrain race because of those matters, then every other race would also have to be boycotted as in their country the same amount of people, actually more, die from crime, disease from poor health care, drugs dealers, human trafficking, women being raped, which all are serious issues that also require human rights attentions, but unfortunately the poplulation is too big, and resources are wasted.

Also a bit of logic, lets say you get everyone on this forum to say no to the Bahrain race, do you really believe that Bernie and the teams will listen? Nope, they will never, it’s a huge business where your opinion isn’t worth a Dollar to them.

I suggest you enjoy F1 without the external politics, and tackle the pressing matters that you feel strongely about to wellfare and human right sites or personally to protest in Bahrain, where you’ll get more than one person replying to you. Have a good night, and do enjoy the races. And write whatever you, don’t going to bother any further discussing or reading politics here.

    2. Not being in Bahrain we must refrain from taking such extreme views. The middle east is better off with absolute monarchs. Having lived there I can say that. Look at Egypt, ever since Mubarak was thrown off there has been total chaos.
Now, assume we boycott Bahrain. Will we boycott USA because they attacked Iraq for no reason? Will we boycott India because women protesting rape are thrashed by the police and not a single person from the govt cares?

    3. Well BG, @ivano is right.
There are much more bigger more important issues in the world today, that the energy you spending on Bahrain seems rather disproportionate (if what you care about is humanity).

  2. @keithcollantine hi keith i hate to sound picky but on the Prediction standings page, could you align the column heading text to the right so that it matches the numbers beneath it? cheers! i got a good 17 points haul from China.

  3. I think the top 3 on Sunday will be Vettel, Alonso and Raikkonen, but in which order? Kimi was the ‘winner’ of FP2, but he hasn’t had a pole in years, so I expect Sebastian to deliver the goods in Q3. Probably Red Bull is a little bit behind on race pace, so I’m picking Alonso and Raikkonen for the first two places. Raikkonen may prove to have a slight edge deep into the stints, but Alonso is such a hustler that I think he will win it:

    Pole: Sebastian Vettel in 1m32.902s
    1. Alonso
    2. Raikkonen
    3. Vettel
    4. Webber (in reasonable shape)
    5. Di Resta (Massa and Grosjean have better cars, but have disappointed in the races so far).

    1. Massa has always been good around Bahrain though.

  4. Pole: 1:32.000 by Alonso.

    Race Result Prediction:

    1. Fernando Alonso
    2. Kimi Raikkonen
    3. Sebastian Vettel
    4. Felipe Massa
    5. Nico Rosberg

    1. @kingshark

Rosberg in p5 is not a good idea Grojean / Webber may be a better pick.

      1. @sankalp88
Rosberg has always been good around Bahrain.

        I have a feeling… oh oh.

        1. @kingshark

“Rosberg has always been good around Bahrain.”

Of the six gp’s Rosberg’s has been part of, his average finishing position has been been 7.33. A more recent trend indicates a higher position is possible, but under statistical expectation, considering the race pace of Lotus, RB and Ferrari, you would be very unwise to bet on a top 5 finish.

      +1

  6. Pole: Kimi – 1:33.573
    1st: Fernando
    2nd: Seb
    3rd: Kimi
    4th: Felipe
    5th: Mark

Top 10 will be the Red Bull’s, Ferrari’s, Lotus’ and Merc’s. Plus Jenson and Paul. Will be a great battle!

  7. Pole: 1:32.832 by Alonso.

    Race Result Prediction:

    1. Fernando Alonso
    2. Fernando Alonso
    3. Fernando Alonso
    4. Fernando Alonso
    5. Fernando Alonso

    :D

  8. Pole: Alonso

    1 Kimi
    2 Alonso
    3 Seb
    4 Webber
    5 Massa

  9. Hard to predict…let’s wait FP3

  10. Seems to be a battle between Alonso, Raikkonen and Vettel this year, and I fully expect them to claim the three top spots again, but in which order…that’s the tricky part. Then obviously there is whether Webber and Massa will deliver similar performances, or if Force India can spring a surprise.
