I think Pirelli need to look at there tyre construction because the sort of failures we saw this weekend is a bit concerning. They may well be caused by debris, However I’ve never seen tyres fail the way the Pirelli’s did this weekend & this many failures caused by debris on 1 weekend indicates the current construction is more prone to debris failures than they should be.

Going back to 2004, I remember the Michelin’s were very prone to debris failure’s & there was a series of them through the mid part of the season which caused some big accidents & a few near misses.
After some investigation Michelin discovered that there recommended tyre pressure’s were too low & made the compound very prone to failure if the surface was cut to a specific depth or in a specific direction.

Although the exact details were never made public, The speculation was that they increased the depth of the tread, strengthened the construction of the canvas & raised there recommended tyre pressures.

Better than the average trip to the dentist, @keithcollantine ?

A good race, lots of hard aggressive and mostly fair wheel-to-wheel action all the way through the field. Great to see both Lotus cars on the podium, Hamilton with a hugely impressive performance,The brawling Mclarens but bitterly dissapointing to see Alonso suffer a failure and lose so many points today The deficit up to 30 points now.
But still an 8/10 for all the tremendous action everywhere except for the lead

7 cause the DRS fail in Alonso prevented us from enjoying an even better race. Kudos to Perez!!!

9/10 – lots of different strategies, lots of wheel to wheel racing, technical issues, teammate battles. The only thing stopping it from being a perfect race, in my books, was the lack of challenge for the win!

Great race – to improve, need more Merc and McLaren and less Red Bull… Lets wait for Europe! Nice F1 Season so far ! :)

Wasn’t impressive throughout, but a lot of fine moments, fine battles and Grosjean/Di Resta and Webber/Hamilton/Alonso/Perez really kept the race alive at the end.

Voted 8/10. Don’t mind Vettel winning, but even if I wasn’t a fan, Alonso’s DRS problem was very unfortunate.

gave it a 4 out of 10. DRS truly destroyed the race. This is the pinnacle of motorsport, not a mickey mouse like WWE. some drivers fair play went for moves at turn 4 but the moves on the main straight with the DRS was a joke

50% always lost when there’s no battle for 1st place.
-10% because of this whole tyre saga.
    So a 4.

9/10. Another great race from champion Vettel! He is the best F1 racing driver after Schumacher. Great work by Lotus Team. Great race for Perez and Button. Also for Di Resta and Hamilton. Good race also for Rosberg with a car without rae pace.
Another big mistake of Alonso & his team. Bad race for Webber, again.

    8.5/10
It would have been perfect if I only someone made it hard or Vettel to win,at least Roseberg gave it a good fight at the start if only it continued….

0/10 – Because the meteorite that I scheduled to hit Vettel never came.

  15. as i rate every race
    +5 to start off
+1 good overtaking and aggressiv driving by alot of drivers
