Damn, and with Frijns landing the GP2 drive for monaco, I guess I’ll be watching GP2 , followed by Formula 1, followed by the Indy 500 on sunday….my girlfriend is gonna kill me :P

@melkurion You could always say “but unlike last year, I’m not watching the GP3 races live”. She doesn’t need to know the details (i.e. there aren’t any this year) and you get the brownie points.

GP2 race on Friday? Excellent!

22nd May 2013, 12:39
Normally, there is no racing on Friday in Monaco. It is public holiday I thought.
James (@jimmyd13)
22nd May 2013, 23:57
No, there used to be no racing as they reopened the streets for the market on Friday. F1 has kept it on Thursday due to tradition. I only know that because I once got caught out by the Thursday practice sessions.

Every year i forget that FP1 and FP2 are held on Thursday because of the holiday on friday. Yes! Tomorow we can once again enjoy watching the cars tremble up and down the track!

How on earth did the BBC manage to not get the rights to Monaco this year?!
Max Jacobson (@vettel1)
22nd May 2013, 15:59
I’m guessing it was one of Sky’s first picks. If they had outright power over their choice of 10 races I’d have picked Australia, Malaysia, Monaco, Britain, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Japan, USA and Brazil but of course that’s not how it works!
Euro Brun (@eurobrun)
22nd May 2013, 14:22
Hmm. What about Formula Renault 3.5? As far as I know the race is 10am Sunday (UK time), but I’m not yet aware of any live coverage?
British Eurosport do have the Porsche Supercup race live at 8.45am (UK time).
Tomsk (@tomsk)
22nd May 2013, 15:36
Looks like it’s highlights only at 11.15pm on Eurosport in the UK. Fingerlickin’ useless. Eurosport in other countries has the race live – why do they think Britain wants to watch bikes from the weekend before instead of a live race?!
Looking forward to (eventually) seeing who’s quicker around Monaco, them or GP2 – and how the GP3 refugees get on, like Sainz and Nick Yelloly (who should know his way round the car, if not his team for the weekend).
Keith Collantine (@keithcollantine)
22nd May 2013, 15:48
@eurobrun I’m afraid @tomsk is right, Eurosport UK aren’t showing it live this year. Very disappointing.
JPQuesado (@joao-pedro-cq)
22nd May 2013, 17:38
Neither in the UK, neither in Portugal. It seems they won’t show it live at a lot of countries.
Max Jacobson (@vettel1)
23rd May 2013, 0:31
Maybe we should start a petition to British Eurosport through F1fanatic to get it in a live slot!
Euro Brun (@eurobrun)
23rd May 2013, 13:02
Cheers guys, looks like it’ll be good old dodgy on-line streaming then.
Yeah, @tomsk, the FR3.5 v GP2 head to head will be interesting. Also interesting that FR3.5 gets the Sunday slot with GP2 relegated to Fri / Sat. I assume they’re paying a bit of money to the right people! Even the Porsche Supercup gets a Sunday race.
Gonna be a good weekend. :)

No Monaco GP on the BBC? weak… i am expecting the BBC to give up the rights to sky completely next season.
