F1 Fanatic Predictions Championship

@Maimai won the tenth round of the 2013 F1 Fanatic Predictions Championship and scooped the top prize along with 31 points towards their total score.

Second place went to Clare who racked up 22 points.

Although @Magnificent-Geoffrey took third place, as a regular contributor to the site he chose to waive his prize so it passes on to the fourth-placed finisher @Abuello-Paul, who came out on top in the tie-breaker.

It was a fairly low-scoring round as well over half of all players picked Sebastian Vettel to take pole position and win the race. Less than 5% of players correctly tipped Lewis Hamilton as the winner.

  1. That was a very nice gesture @magnificent-geoffrey!

I’m terrible at these, honestly I should just go with the opposite of my instinct!

    1. I’m the opposite. I should stick with my instincts… I think “This IS a track that Hamilton loves… … But Red Bull and Lotus do look good here.”

I end up changing my mind right before qualifying pretty much every race :P

    2. @vettel1 Well the reality is that this predictions are very hard to make with just the practice sessions as a reference. I bet real money every GP but only after qualifying and I rarely loose, if I were to put the same predictions as I do here I’d be broke!

    3. I’m really bad too, having an especially bad year this year, but it’s still fun. It seems like I usually predict the top 5 drivers but all in the wrong order. Last year I think I was in 18th place around this time of the year, this year I’m 500 something so I’ve really gone and done a McLaren.

      1. @metallion I still find it to be great fun but I’d like to think I were better than I actually am at reading the situation and making accurate predictions! If I look at the positives though that means I am pretty much always surprised at the eventual result, which keeps things interesting!

  2. Moved from 60th to 48th isn’t the worst result, though slightly annoying that as soon as I need Vettel to do well, he struggles to get passed people :P

  3. I just can’t believe I won! This is really unexpected considering I rarely make it over 10 points. That’s a nice surprise.

    1. Congrats :)

    2. That shows how unpredictable F1 is :) Grats ! :D

  4. Is there a way I can see the prediction I entered for Hungary? Because I think I entered Pole VET Race VET RAI GRO ALO WEB and I should’ve got 7 points instead of the 3 that show in the results.

    1. You should get a confirmation email after you voted that will have the details of your predictions.

  5. I can’t see any scores at all for Hungary, everyone scored 0. (I know you said it was a low scoring round…)

    1. I have the same problem. Are you using Google Chrome?

      1. No, Mozilla Seamonkey. For some reason I had to reload the page before they appeared.

    2. Same here. I am using IE9

      1. Same problem here. Can anyone tell me how I did?

  6. I had VET for pole on 1:19.500. I was a hero for about 30 seconds until that HAM bloke showed up. Drats.

This was great news to see this morning. I’m a perennial backmarker on these types of games so this was a very nice surprise.

  8. I predicted the pole brilliantly and that was pretty much it , I am afraid :( .

  9. I think that was my best predictions entry ever… managed to predict pole pretty well (Hamilton 1:19:262), and at least got the correct drivers in the top 5, even though I only got Raikkonen’s and Webber’s positions correct.

  10. I predicted Lewis for pole and win, Kimi in second, can’t remember the rest but I scored 0 points!!

I must not have clicked add prediction or something as I can’t find the email? – duh, how annoying!!
